Up for sale is my 1949 Chevy 3600 ¾ ton pickup truck. I purchased this truck back in 2008 with the intent of restoring it mechanically along with the interior and keeping the patina for the outside as is. The truck came out of a small town in Nebraska. I have receipts for everything I’ve done and purchased totaling ~$3,800. I resealed the engine and trans along with replacing the clutch. I replaced the brakes and master cylinder but has since developed a small leak at the master cylinder. The brakes work but are weak. The emergency brake is not hooked up.
I went through the interior and painted the interior, doors and jambs, installed a new gas tank and had the seat redone. The gauges were redone, and all new wiring was installed. The cab is in great shape with solid original floors. One cab corner has some minor rust.
I drained and replaced the gas along with a fresh fuel filter and charged the battery. The truck starts up fine but still needs the remaining new wiring run for the front and rear lights. There are still many new parts to be installed. The truck does not have the original 216 ci engine but a 235 ci engine from a ’58 Chevy. I determined that from the casting dates on the motor. I believe the rear end to be out of a 1 ton with 5.14 gears.
I haven’t done anything with the truck for the past 7 years and it has mostly been artwork for the front of my shop. The tires hold air fine but are flat spotted for sitting so long without moving. I have many other projects to work on and don’t see getting to this one anytime soon, so it needs to move on. I would consider this still to be a project that needs some work to be complete.
The truck is sold AS-IS, where is.
