I am listing a 1949 GMC 85,000 mile one family owned, solid short box pickup from the West Virginia coal Country. The last inspection was done in 1984, in 1985the truck went into storage for the next 35 years. The truck was brought out of storage almost one year ago and nowis for sale to a good home. This is a very clean and comfortablegood running and driving old truck. The motor has been rebuilt, it starts on the first turn, hot, or cold, itruns and idles perfect, no oil, or coolant leaks, no smoking, no overheating issues. This is a tight old pickup. The steering has no excessiveplay, the door hinges are tight, they open and close with no effort, the windows go down and back up again with ease. All the glass is good, no cracks, or chips, no wiper marks. All the gauges work including the fuel gauge and speedometer. All the lights on this truck work, The brakes have been redone and stop better than average manual brakes, the truck has a new 6 volt battery, the starter turns the motor over like a 12 volt. The clutch is in excellent working order with no clutch chatter, or slipping issues. The trans. is quiet, with no popping out of gear, the shifter is tight and shifts through the gears with no grinding, or hanging up between the gears.. The truck just had a fresh oil change, new fuel pump, complete tune up, new carburetor, complete new exhaust from front to the rear bumper,a frontend alignment, 4 brand new Coker Classic 235/ 75 R 15" true wide white wall tires. The truckoriginallyhad 16" bias ply tires, which will be in the back of the truck when the new owner picks it up. The chrome grille and bumpers are original to the truck, the cab corners, doors, fenders and running boardsare rock solid. The inside of the truck is very presentable, clean and comfortable, the trucks original owners manual is still in the glove compartment, the original ignition key locks the passenger door. The truckcomes witha spare tire and jack. This is nice attractive andquiet running and dependable pickup with a clear West Virginia Title.
