1979 Chevrolet Malibu Additional Info:
1979 Monte Chevy Carlo with 76,910 titled miles on the body. The body is solid, undercarriage is immaculate and frame has no rust or deterioration. Paint has some nicks here and there and trunk lid has a few dings. All of trim comes with the car, but the driver side trim isn't installed due to trying to find factory correct clips. Most Monte Carlo owners install the trim with 3M double sided tape which is what I will be doing in the event I keep the car. Paint is a 6-7 out of 10, but still looks good and gets compliments wherever I'm driving it.
- Engine is a 350 4 bolt main crate motor with a Comp Cams 280H cam, Comp Cams hydraulic lifters, Comp Cams roller tip rockers & Comp Cams hardened pushrods, ARP intake bolts. Has upgraded valve springs & the valve seals have been replaced. Edelbrock 650cfm avs2 Carb & Edelbrock performer intake color matched black to the motor. Double roller timing chain, Melling oil pump & pickup tube. MSD pro billet distributor, MSD 6AL ignition box & MSD coil power the spark. All wires under the hood have been sleeved and routed to limit visibility. Mid length Patriot Headers with dual exhaust ran into Spintech mufflers. SPAL electric & relay. Transmission (TH350) is a fresh & fully built with receipts Red Eagle clutches & Steels, shift kit with a Hughes 2800 stall torque converter cooled with a Derale heavy duty 6AN oil cooler.
- Suspension has been entirely gone through and all bushings replaced on the front upper & lower control arms. All steering linkage & ball joints (upper & lower) are Pro Forged. Front upper control arms have been reinforced and stretched 1", Rear trailing arms are UMI tubulars for the upper & lowers. New driveshaft U-joints and rubber transmission mount.
- Brakes have been upgraded with new calipers & rotors in front with Russell steel braided lines. New inner & outer wheel bearings installed in the front (not the cheap china ones). Rear drum have all new hardware, springs & pads along with new axle brake lines & Russell steel braided line at the split.
- Underbody & frame has been coated with a semi gloss front to back.
- Paint looks good from a few feet but has a few scratches and front & rear bumpers have some cracks from previous storage. Impact strips need replaced. But I have a box of new strips for both that will go with the car. With that being said, the car still looks damn good in the garage and going down the road. A new paint job is really all this car needs at this point.
- 2 sets of rims come with this car if the asking price is met or I'd be willing to keep the 4 - brand new 13x7 72 spoke wheels and tires & knock a bit off the price. Other set is just stock steel wheels (see pics)
- Interior is in great shape. RARE willow green. Only exception is a small tear on the top corner of the passenger front seat. New willow green carpet all panels have been redone in willow green and dash cap installed in willow green. Speedometer & tach are green digital Intellitronix and about 95% of the wiring behind the dash is brand new. heater is not hooked up, but everything is about there if you wanted to reinstall. Seats belts are lap belts. Tilt steering column with new internals.
- Stereo is powered by 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch amps with 4 - 4" Rockford Fosgate highs in a custom rear deck colored matched to the willow green. Front soundstage is 2 - 5.25" & 1" Rockford Fosgate Power series highs with crossovers in custom color matched willow green kick panels. Also have 2 more 4" Rockford Fosgate highs tucked up under the dash. Head unit is and Apline CDE-1728T cd player.
The car fires up easily & runs great. Transmission shifts like a built 350 Turbo transmission with shift kit and stall. If youre looking for a solid 1979 Monte Carlo, then she's definitely worth looking at. I will entertain keeping the wire wheels and just selling it on stocks to reduce the price a bit. I have hundreds of pics of everything that has been done (but obviously can't post them all here). I also have a Lincoln Versailles 9" rear end I was going to put under it that I would sell with it for about $1K more (will need Gbody bracket kit added to it) but its the perfect width and bullet proof. Car is listed without warranty so please ask questions, I feel like I've covered everything but no question is a dumb question. These cars are getting hard to find in this condition, with this low of mileage. Will help with shipping if needed. Thanks for looking
