An extremely rare 1977 ½ Chevrolet Camaro Z-28. Chevrolet killed the Z-28 with the 1974 model year. However, after seeing Trans Am sales skyrocket in the aftermath, Chevrolet redesigned the Z-28 and reintroduced it midway through the 77 model year. As a result of the limited production time only 14,349, 1977 Z-28’s were produced making the model one of the rarest of all Z-28’s. Considering normal wear and tear, accident attrition and the car crusher, after 42 years very few 1977’s are still around and even fewer in excellent, mostly original condition like this one. In regards to the 1977's rarity......in 1978 54,000 Z-28's were produced and in1979 84,000 Z-28's were made.
This car was owned by the same family up until 2017 and I’m the second titled owner. The car was manufactured at GM’s Norwood, OH plant the 3rd week of May 1977. Delivered to Wollum Chevrolet in Courtland, Ohio where it was purchased by the original owner. It is a numbers matching car with the original LM-1 350 and Turbo Hydromantic Automatic transmission with a 373 rear end. The carpet, seats, seatbelts, dash and all interior with the exception of the rear package tray……is original. The headliner is perfect with both the dome light and “fasten seat belt” in working order! The dash is perfect….NO Cracks! The door panels and seats look like new…no rips, tears, or cracking. In the trunk, you’ll find the original space saver spare tire and inflator bottle! The console looks good with a minor 40 year old cigarette burn from the previous owner but the lid plastic hinge needs replacing. The original am/fm stereo was missing when I purchased the car and the dash clock does not work (typical for these cars) This Z-28 is a non-air car. I’ve replaced, oil pan and engine seals, and rear differential cover. The car has a stainless steel dual exhaust that gives it a beautiful sound. The car had one repaint in the mid 1990’s and I had the wheels and trunk lid repainted and new decals applied in the summer of 2018. The car has a total of 79,400 original miles.
The car is on Palm Beach but stored off-site and every time I drive it, it turns heads. I’ve actually had people follow me into gas stations just to ask me about it or get a closer look at it! This car has won best of show for 70’s model car and it will not disappoint you. It comes with the original build sheet, a three ring binder full of 1977 Camaro material including the owners manual and some extra small parts, along with a premium car cover and decals.
Price is $18,500 and it can be seen by making an appointment……no tire kickers, low ballers or guys who want to trade…….I don’t need to sell this car.... but if you've been looking a 1977 that will turn heads...this is your car. I can be reached at 269-271-0098 and if I don’t answer please leave a voicemail my name is Rick. I reserve the right to end the listing at anytime since the car is also for sale locally. Thanks for looking!
