1977 Chevrolet Corvette -- Additional Info:

This 1977 Chevrolet Corvette represents one heck of an opportunity to get into the hobby in a big way. It's priced quite reasonably, yet it'll get you admission to every big Corvette event in the country. Why? It shows just 12,302 original miles, a figure we have no reason to dispute. Yes, that's right, an A-list, low-mileage survivor for the price of a used beater. Oh, and it also happens to have a killer black-on-black look to boot. This is an awesome find!
The black paint is either a single older repaint or more than likely the original paint, we're not 100% certain, but the look is authentic and the car certainly looks every bit the part of a Corvette. The fiberglass is in good condition, even the urethane bumper caps, and although the paint has seen some better days and there are imperfections in the finish today, there's still a soft shine present that's very much a look from the '70s. There are obviously no modifications or questionable upgrades, not even a pinstripe, to detract from this car's authenticity. The black finish suits the late '70s shape rather well, adding a dignified look to a car that was more grand tourer than sports car by the time this one was built. Details like the taillights lenses, weather stripping, luggage rack, and the black rubber bumper guards are all in nice condition, more evidence that this is a genuine low-mileage machine.
The black leather interior is just wonderfully preserved, with a comfortable look that only shows a few very minor signs of age but nothing that would suggest that the mileage isn't authentic. The bucket seats are as comfortable as they look and the original carpets remain in excellent shape too. The door panels look almost new, without even a small dent where the driver's elbow might have rested, and the dash pad is excellent with no cracks or fading. Full instrumentation was part of the Corvette's package, and the bright analog gauges are easy to read and fully functional. There's also an AM/FM stereo head unit that was original equipment, as well as factory A/C and power windows. In 1977, all the hot Corvettes were T-tops, and the rear compartment still carries the original belts for strapping the tops in place and there's almost no evidence of UV damage on the dark carpets.
The engine is the original, numbers-matching L48 350 cubic inch V8 and if you didn't believe the mileage by looking at the interior and bodywork, you'll believe it after seeing the engine bay. The air cleaner, the engine enamel, the fittings, the hoses, and the hardware all look just as they did rolling off the assembly line 36 years ago, albeit with a few signs of age here and there. It's packed in there rather tightly, but you can see that the engine still wears corporate blue paint, the cad plated parts are still nice, but not perfect, and factory-style clamps and original decals are all still in place. It runs beautifully with a nice V8 rumble from the Flowmaster dual exhaust system, which still uses a giant pancake-style catalytic converter. The TH350 3-speed automatic transmission shifts crisply and the chassis is unquestionably original, with only surface scale on the heavy metal parts. It rides and handles well, just as you'd expect from a car that's see so little use, and the classic aluminum wheels are unmarked and carry 225/70/15 BFGoodrich radials, perhaps only the second set of tires it's ever worn.
Documented with the original owner's manual, warranty card, window sticker, and maintenance receipts, this is an incredible find, particularly at this price. If you love survivors, come see this 'Vette and be prepared to be impressed. Call today!
