This is for a A Very Rare Solid and Straight 1984 Chevy Custom Deluxe Square Body Regular Cab Short bed 4x4.The factory RPO code decal is still under the hood.I posted a photo of it.So you can see exactly how this truck left the factory.I was told it was special ordered.This truck is still wearing its original brown Paint so nothing is hiding.What you see is what you get.No surprises with this one.
A little history on this truck.I bought this truck back in 1998.I was the second owner.The truck had @ 73K miles on it back then.The original 305 motor was knocking so I put a BRAND NEW 350 GM Goodwrench crate motor in it.I kept the truck until 2002 when it was sold to my neighbor.He kept it up until a few months ago when I bought it back.He drove it very little over the last 17 years.He put about 30K on it.It has NEVER been in the mud or abused.This truck has the super rare mm7 cast iron 4 speed overdrive trans option.Look it up on google,if you like.I am sure a Square body fan knows this combo well.It very rare and very hard to come by,esp in a short bed 4x4.It has basically the same gear ratios as a 700r auto.The 350 motor still runs perfect.The 4 speed trans is easy to shift and the Factory Hurst shifter is tight and smooth.The 4 wheel drive works as it should.It came with a black rubber mat that I have removed.It was torn up.I bought brand new Full Black carpet kit for it, but have not installed it.It will come with the truck.I put some grey primer on the floor pans so they would show up good in the photos.The truck is very solid with a few exceptions.There is a small amount of rust thru on the drivers upper rocker by the door,it is very minor and both rockers are in great shape.The truck has had a bed liner in it since new.Unfortunately my Neighbor never removed it and a collection of leaves and dirt trapped over the last 20 years rotted out the bed floor in a few spots up toward the front.I removed the bed liner and cleaned the bed out.I put the liner back in after I was done.I have another rust free bed floor that will come with the truck.The bed bolts together and this is a pretty easy fix.NOTHING else in the bed is rusted.The rear inner fenders are not even dented up.The tail gate is in great shape and opens and closes easily.The drivers side fuel tank was leaking due to the plastic cover under it collecting debris and rusting thru from the bottom.I have a brand new tank and sending unit that will come with the truck.I do not know the condition off the passenger side tank,but it does not leak.The switch for the duel tanks is not working,so for a temporary set up I have a gallon jug under the hood so I can move it around.This truck still has all of it's a/c stuff under the hood and the original compressor still cycles but is low on freon.It has never been converted over to 134a.The heater core leaks and has been disconnected.I have a brand new haeter core that comes with the truck. The interior is still original to the truck.Seat is still very nice with no tears.The dash pad is cracked in several spots.All the idiot lights work.The original am/fm cassette radio still plays and the cassette still works.The 4 factory speakers have about had it.The doors open and shut perfect and the windows roll up and down smoothly.The truck is still very tight driving.It has hardly any play in the steering.The tires are about 2 years old and a new Clutch was done last year,It is smooth with no chatter.The duel exhaust is in great shape and has old school turbo mufflers on it,so it is not very loud.The brakes still work good and stop the truck straight with no pulling or pulsating.I even still have the original spare steel rim and Uniroyal tire but it is badly dryrotted.The chrome rims,that are on the truck now,I put on back in 99.They are still in decent shape.This truck came with plain white steel wheels when I originally bought it.All Glass is good but the windshield does have a crack on the passenger side that has been there since I bought the truck in 98.
