Here we have a stunning 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 that has received a complete restoration from bumper to bumper. This is a true SS chevelle that was born with a 396/350hp engine but has been upgraded with a correct 1970 396/375hp L78 power plant. The suffix numbers on the engine were shaved off because the block was decked during the rebuild but the casting number (3969854) is correct for the 375hp block and it has the 1/2" and 3/4" drilled pipe thread inleats above the oil filter which were specific only to the 4 bolt main 375hp engines. It also has HI-PERFORMANCE PASS stamped above the oil filter on the block. In addition to the block being correct it also has the 375hp heads that carried the casting number (3964291) and atop the heads sits a GM aluminum intake. We also have the original build sheet for the Chevelle. The body of the car is arrow straight with a perfect fit and finish. All original floors and quarters, uper solid. The two stage metallic blue paint is of show quality and really shows off the excellent body panels. The white stripes were painted on the car before it was cleared so they are smooth. All chrome, tainless, lass, nd weather stripping are all new. Wheels are new with new trim rings center caps and lugs. Car sparkles like a new diamond. The interior has been replaced with all new white upholstery and looks really nice. All gauges work properly including wipers, orn, tereo and all lights. Even the cowl induction hood works like it should. As we discussed earlier the engine is a L78 396/375hp big blocked topped with a GM aluminum intake, olley 750 carb, nd a HEI distributor. The engine runs absolutely perfect and idles smooth. Starts right up every time with no smoke or hesitation. The transmission is the bullet proof Turbo 400 automatic with a 12 bolt posi rear axle with 3.31 gears. The chevelle also features power steering and power disc brakes. This beautiful chevelle needs nothing and is ready to show and go. It drives incredible on the road being very tight and sound with no shakes or rattles and the torque of the big block just keeps pulling. This chevelle is nothing but fun..........and not to mention a good investment as well...
