Up for sale is my 1972 Chevy Corvette coupe in original Ontario Orange.
I acquired this daily driver about 2 1/2 years ago, and began to restore it. I have since bought a 71 that is a 4-speed which is what I really wanted and currently finishing the restoration on this one.
The 72 corvette drives well, and responds quickly to the gas peddle. Previous owner had some work done on it as well including replacing the gas tank.
This car needs just a few things to make it truly awesome or drive as is, it gets a ton of compliments and looks wherever I go (even here in sunny Los Angeles where classic and exotic cars are in abundance).
Whoever gets this classic is buying an investment as well, as these chrome bumper Corvettes are becoming more and more rare. This is a removable T-Top and rear window Corvette Coupe.
Car is currently registered in my name till 2020, clear title in hand, SMOG EXEMPT.
Here is a list of the things I have done to the car in the last 2 years:
1. New exhaust from neck to back with Flow Masters Mufflers
2. New Aluminum Radiator
3. New Alternator
4. New Flywheel
5. New gear reduction Starter
6. New Edelbrock 4 bbl Carburator with Auto Choke
7. New Electric Distributer, (no points)
8. New Spark plugs, wires, oil and tune up
9. New brakes and front calipers
10. 4 new tires
11. New battery
12. All electrical connections were gone through and replaced where necessary
13. New belts
14. Tranny was serviced and fluid replaced
15. New driver's side, rear drain hose installed
16. Painted in the original color; Ontario Orang, last year.
17. Interior was gutted and thoroughly cleaned.
18. All interior trim panels removed, cleaned and repainted.
19. New Carpet kit
20. Original seats were re-upholstered in Vinyl black with new foam, hardware cleaned/painted
21. Door panels reconditioned, driver's door panel redone with new vinyl
22. Some door hardware is new
23. All instruments in center panel work except for clock
24. New voltmeter
25. Center armrest was re-upholstered
26. New hood release cable
27. New set of lap seat belts
28. Full rubber weatherstripping kit installed; doors, t-tops, columns
29. New rear compartment chrome door hinges
30. Engine bay and undercarriage was professionally steam cleaned, and detailed
31. Undercarriage was completely rubber coated and painted.
32. All joints, windows, gears, hinges on the interior/doors were cleaned and oiled.
Bad:
1. The windshield has a small crack in the center and a small "circle" crack on the corner
2. The wipers and wiper doors are not working
3. The AC, heater and fan are not operational
4. Power steering pump has a small leak, and there is a little play in the steering wheel.
5. Paint has some flaws
6. Driver window roller plastic guide is off a bit, but works well up and down
7. Front passenger signal light housing/chrome trim and corner are cracked
I would only be interested in trading for a LOTUS ELISE OR EVORA, and can work out something if cash is added to the deal.
