1935 Chevrolet Tudor
In the hot-rodding world, sometimes there is the school of thought that the more flames that adorn the car, the better. Makes it look faster! Key word here is look...then there is the other school of thought that a sleek, shaved, chopped, simplified body, made from fiberglass, with a powerful mill, a slick transmission, and an overall custom build and who needs flames? This build will have the flamers seeing red... watching the taillights as they disappear in their front windshield, after the arm drop.
Just glancing at cars in the halls of Classic Auto Mall, one can spot the good, bad and the ugly right away, and you do not need much of a trained eye. This one is definitely a good category build and can be shown or used as a daily driver, it's that well done. Let's just say that amongst all the Hot Rods here, this one is definitely a "gold" nugget, and definitely worth a look if you are not into the build part of the game.
Exterior
An Outlaw performance '34 Chevy Tudor body with a 3" chop, smoked glass, and mini tubs, is cloaked in Buick Cashmere with a generous heaping of pearl custom mix spray. Fiberglass has its advantages, mainly the panels are straight as arrows, gaps are nearly perfect, and look ma... NO RUST EVER! The hood is the exception as it is hand formed from 3 pieces of aluminum and is adorned with stainless vent spears. Custom aluminum headlight mounts adorn the grille and fender niche, and the body and fenders are bobbed at the rear. Valley Custom Mirrors hang from each door, which have been shaved of their handles (strictly remote with an emergency entry here kids). 14" & 15" Weld Rod Lite wheels are adding some snazz on each corner.
Interior
Remotely pop open the doors and immediately you are overwhelmed with the smell of quality leather, Ultra Leather to be exact. This covers what were Corvette seats, with the driver's side offering power adjustments. Breathe in the Vintage Air controlled by an eye-catching oval control panel which allows the driver to choose air, heat or defrost modes. Auto Meter Platinum series gauges keep the operator apprised of all the vitals and are fronted by a Billet Specialties half wrap revolver steering wheel, which tops an Ididit polished aluminum tilt steering column. Look to the door panels and you'll see power windows, and these doors are controlled by a Dakota Digital entry system. An AM/FM/CD player rests comfortably overhead in a Valley Customs overhead console and can belt out several watts of your favs on the playlist.
Drivetrain
A 1994 LTI Mill which taps out at 350ci and has a 1995 4LLOE automatic transmission, which has a cooler attached.
Undercarriage
Attracting all the attention underneath is a Mike Adams built chrome moly tube chassis with 4-wheel disc brakes, and custom chassis engineered coil over shocks. Rack and pinion steering, a 95 Corvette independent suspension, a polished aluminum rear cover axles and driveshaft, and poly graphite suspension bushings.
Very impressive, and a build you could not replicate for the price of this gorgeous, high performance, great handling, convenience loaded vintage looker. All wrapped up in fiberglass and aluminum -gold covered, and NO FLAMES...a must see in person to really appreciate this standout. The photos do not do it justice because they were shot by another photographer! Just kidding...come on down!
