UPDATE 9/24/2019: Please note, to all who have inquired, I have just lowered buy it now price of car by $1000.00, from $12,900 to $11,900. If it doesn't sell by the time listing ends on Friday night, 9/27, it will be off the market and going into winter storage this weekend. I will then possibly offer it for sale in the spring, but price at that time will be $14,000. Thanks very much for inquiries. I am offering for sale a really nice example of a 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo! In my opinion, this year was the best looking of the first generation Monte Carlos! I am 3rd owner of this car, and it has 78,000 original miles. It has always been garaged and well taken care of! It is a "Survivor" in as much as it is original color (Code 26 Viking Blue), has original black vinyl top, motor, transmission, chrome & brightwork, blue cloth interior, and is also original in the trunk with factory splatter paint and trunk mat still in place. Car still has all its original body panels, floors, etc., and is very clean! Car was originally from the South, has been in hobbyist hands while in New York, and not winter driven, or subject to snow or road salt. This Monte Carlo is equipped as follows: 350/4bbl Engine Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission Power Steering Power Disc Brakes Rear Defogger Air Conditioning (converted to 134A) Dual Exhaust AM/FM/CD Stereo (updated unit, fits in original dash, speakers installed like factory, no extra holes cut) This car has been kept up with and very well maintained. Here is what has been done in the last 3,000 miles: 1. Engine and transmission removed from car and completely gone through mechanically and then detailed cosmetically. "Dress up kit" added to engine.Original valve covers, timing cover, etc. are included if you wish to go back to stock original look. 2. Cooling system refurbished (radiator, belts, hoses, water pump, etc.) 3. Brakes and shocks replaced 4. Air Conditioning converted to R-134A Freon and just serviced 5. Exhaust system replaced 6. New tires and American Racing "Torque Thrust" wheels. Car originally just had wheel covers, so this really added to appearance Within last 300 miles car was state inspected and also just had oil, lube, and filter done. Engine and transmission are very strong, and it rides great! I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere! In fact I just drove it on a 200 mile trip a few days ago! There were no issues at all. Only thing that doesn't work correctly on this car is the clock. Original chrome is still really nice. Vinyl top is NOT brittle or torn. Looks great! Car has all original body panels. Also floors and undercarriage are good and solid. Original chrome and brightwork look great! Paint still holds a good shine. Original interior is quite nice. Cloth seats are nice and firm, not ripped up, carpet and door panels are all nice, no cracks or breaks in dash. Other than engine appearance detail kit, rest of engine bay is very nice original, so is trunk compartment. Real pretty color combination that turns a lot of heads and gets lots of attention! This Monte Carlo has all sorts of possibilities for the hobbyist: 1. Great car to enter in car shows. 2. Great tour car for classic car club trips and events. 3. Great car for bringing the family to cruise-ins and other fun events. 4. If kept nice, and not winter snow and salt driven, great comfortable general transportation. 5. If you want to turn back to completely stock, all you have to do is put original appearance items back on engine, and get some Chevrolet Rally Wheels. You can sell the American Racing "Torque Thrusts" for a lot more than what you will spend doing this. Then you could enter car in Survivor or AACA HPOF car show classes. ABOUT ME: I have collected and fooled with old cars for over 40 years. I favor nice original cars that have been well maintained. I will sometimes sell one out of my collection to make room for new acquisitions. Call me with any questions at: 518-604-4195 Landline 704-661-1326 Cell IMPORTANT: CALLS ONLY, NO TEXTS!!! NOT SET UP FOR TEXT MESSAGES!! I am in and out a lot, so call both numbers, and leave word at both if no answer. Thanks! NOW FOR THE RULES: 1. A $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE partial payment is due immediately on purchase with Buy it Now. This is to be made by Pay Pal. Balance is to be paid within 7 days. Wire transfer is preferred. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for payment of balance. 2. Your bid is a contract! If you buy, you are expected to pay! Please make sure your money is in place, all questions are answered, and all decision makers consulted BEFORE you bid! Full payment is due within 7 days of purchase. 3. Car and ownership paperwork will not leave here until car is paid in full with cleared funds at my bank. Please remember that due to increased fraud with official checks and money orders, banks now hold the deposit up for as many as 10 business days. Best way to pay is by bank wire transfer, it protects both buyer and seller. This is what I prefer. 4. Car is sold strictly AS/IS, NO WARRANTY at my premises. Transportation/shipping is buyer's responsibility. I will help you any reasonable way I can, but it is still your responsibility. 5. Once you buy, and are waiting to have car picked up or shipped, you need to insure the car, as I cannot be responsible for acts of God or damage beyond my control. 6. International buyers are welcome, but must pay with wire transfer, and again, must be paid with cleared funds before car and ownership paperwork will be released to your shipper. 7. Please remember, this is NOT a new car. It is a well maintained used car that is 48 years old. As such, there are some flaws that are consistent with this (minor nicks, dings, imperfections, etc.). It is a very clean original car, but is by no means a 100 point show car. Please realize this when you bid. 8. Also, please be aware in New York State, titles are not issued for cars 1972 and older. The proof of ownership is a transferrable registration and transfer. Please check your state's registration rules BEFORE bidding. States are supposed to have reciprocity with each other and honor other states' transfers, but each state has its own paperwork and form requirements. 9. Please feel free to call me at 704-661-1326 (cell phone) or 518-604-4195 (landline). I am in and out a lot, and cell is spotty when I'm home, so best to call both and leave word at both with any questions or concerns. Again, make sure you get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE you commit to buy! I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems 5% of difficult people spoil things for the 95% who are good. Thanks for looking, good luck, and again, feel free to call me at 704-661-1326 cell, or 518-604-4195 landline. Again, call both and leave word. NO TEXTS, CALLS ONLY! |
