This Black Z28 is a true local survivor! This Camaro is a one family owned car since new and never left the greater Peoria, Illinois area until 2019! The Camaro was sold new at S&K Chevrolet in Peoria, Illinois on 8/29/1984 with 182 miles at time of delivery. After 1984, the Z28 was stored dormant for many years with MSO only (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin) until 1996 when the family actually titled the MSO for the first time with the state of Illinois.Recently in 2019, the family traded in the Camaro for a new Chevrolet at Ray Dennison Chevrolet, Peoria Illinois. Iincluded with this Camaro is the original delivery paperwork, GM new owner information, GM insurance certificate, GM maintenance schedule, original owners manual, Firestone Tire Warranty and a copy of the current AutoCheck report.Assembled in General Motors' Van Nuys, California factory (VIN code L) during the fourth week of June 1984 (code 6D), this Camaro is dressed in Black (code 19) with silver trim. The paint and trim are in overall very excellent order, and the finish really shines brilliantly. The car's glass panels (including the tinted T-tops (code CC1) and compound curved hatch with rear defroster) and lights look new, the bodywork is solid and straight, the sports sideview mirrors look excellent and the body-colored bumpers and factory mudflaps fit tightly to the body. The original engine bay is tidy and very well preserved. Underneath, the undercarriage is original and solid.Under the hood is the original 305 CID V-8 (code LG4) with a four-barrel Quadrajet carburetor and breathing via dual exhausts. In fact, the factory Four-bbl Quadrajet carb still has the factory chalk mark on butterfly! Backing this engine is the original 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with a 3.08:1 rear end. Driver convenience features are plentiful - air-conditioning, cruise control, power steering with fast 12.7:1 ratio, power brakes with front discs, power window, power door locks, power front seats, tilt steering column and intermittent windshield wipers. This Camaro rides on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, size 235/60R15 at every corner. Each tire is mounted to an original, factory five-star alloy wheels. The alloys are in excellent, original order while the tires are in very good condition.Inside, this Camaro has an interior that would look at home in the mid-level Berlinetta Camaro. The original Camel cloth interior is shot through with diagonal black stripes (code D - custom contour cloth) on the inner door panels and the side bolsters of each seat. The front reclining buckets and rear demi bucket seats are in overall great condition with some wear visible at the base of the driver's seat. If the rear seats are not needed, it might be better just to leave the rear seatback folded down for more cargo room. The carpet and headliner are in great, original shape while the three-spoke steering with its low-set horizontal spokes still looks excellent. The original inner door liners and black dashboard with its large padded top, are in excellent original condition. The speedometer has an unusual dual-needle set up - left arc for miles per hour, right arc for kilometers per hour. The General's multi-function turn signal stalk is forward of the lever for the tilt column. The center console and shift lever look great and in the dash is the factory Delco-Bose AM/FM stereo with cassette deck and those (for the era) awesome speakers in the B-pillars.GM stunned the automotive world in 1982 when it introduced the third-generation F-body cars, which some critics earlier thought would not survive the aftershocks of the second energy crisis. Deftly styled with features like quad headlights, tri-colored rear taillights, a windshield canted at 62 degrees, a huge compound curved hatch, a folding rear seat for extra cargo room and suspensions that put its corner-carving ability on par with the Corvette. This generation owed nothing to the previous two, was lighter than the second and offered more utility and better handling than its predecessors.Road & Track magazine selected the 1984 Camaro/Firebird as one of 12 best cars in the world and in the Best Sports GT category. Car and Driver magazine picked the 1984 Camaro Z-28 as the best handling car built in the United States.Competition to this Camaro in 1984 included Chrysler's Laser, Dodge's Daytona, Ford's Mustang, Honda's Prelude, Mercury's Capri, Nissan's 300ZX 2+2, Pontiac's Firebird, Toyota's Supra and Volkswagen's Sirocco. If you have fond fantasies of these Camaros from when you were in middle school, high school or college, this is your chance to pick up one of the finest surviving examples! If you owned one in the 1980s or 1990s and desire another one, you owe it to yourself to stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check this black Z-28 out for yourself.VIN: 1G1AP87H1EL224340This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 2,065 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Illinois title due to age but mileage is believed to be original due to the current original condition, one family ownership and the AutoCheck report.
