Before we go into the details on this slick 1957 Chevrolet 210 Wagon, please take a few moments to look at the photos... Back? Good, because you can plainly see that this is one heck of a car. Nicely built, there's likely not a single surface or component that hasn't been tweaked, polished, or attended-to in some way, delivering what might be the ultimate rod for the guy with a family. The '57 is arguably the best-looking... of all the shoebox Chevys, so it didn't make sense to modify the sheetmetal in any major way. Instead, they spent the time and money on getting everything as straight as possible, then covered it in gloss Riner Blue and white paint using the factory Bel Air trim to provide an awesome look that simply dazzles because of the build quality. As you saw in the photos, the surfaces are so smooth and flat that reflections show virtually zero distortion and the brilliant shine of the urethane paint is miles deep out in the sunlight. The anodized panel on the quarters adds a neat bright element to the color combination, and things like the grille, hood emblem, and rockets were chromed, not coated in gold, for a very uniform look that looks awesome on this updated build. The rest of the chrome was treated to either a show-quality re-plate or swap to high-quality reproduction pieces, the stainless was polished up to match, and if not for the big wheels, you might mistake it for a stocker as it cruises down Main Street. There's more awesomeness inside where the combination of old and new is so tastefully done that it's hard to find the line. The two-tone white and gray upholstery has a look that pays a passing nod to the OEM look, although it was obviously not stock in 1957. Quite frankly, interiors just didn't look this good back then, nor were they this comfortable. The front bench seat is a neatly sculpted remix of the original, offering a lot more support and comfort and feature Chevrolet script in the seat-back that's continued in the matching rear seat as well. New carpets with the modern, plush weave and nap were installed and custom door panels were created using the same pattern found in the seats and the same modern materials. Of course, it's got all the modern conveniences like R134a A/C, a tilt column, and an updated AM/FM/Cassette stereo system, but none of it detracts from the fairly stock-looking, two-tone dashboard. The steering wheel is a modern, wood-rimmed billet piece that looks quite at home in the '57 and the original instrument panel is filled with white-face gauges that are augmented with a couple auxiliary units below. In back, there's a gorgeous cargo bay that's just too nice to use for hauling anything, complete with matching carpets and plenty of room to accommodate almost any travel plans. It's still got Chevy power under the hood, delivered in the form of a modern tuned-port injected 350 cubic inch V8 motor. It's a tidy package in the '57's engine bay, and with a ton of polished aluminum and chrome it looks fantastic. A lot of effort went into tidying up the wiring and plumbing, so the look is ultra-clean, yet serviceability is quite good. The tuned-port injection system and Spectre intake makes the power, a Griffin aluminum radiator keeps it cool, and there's an HEI ignition system to light it up. Power front disc brakes, power steering, a lowered suspension with tubular A-arms up front, and fat sway bars at both ends means that it drives more like a Camaro than a station wagon, and you can see that the chassis is as highly detailed as the rest of the car. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission powers a 12-bolt rear end with friendly gears, so it's got plenty of pop off the line and can loaf along at highway speeds as well. Gorgeous 18-inch Coys are a new twist on an old favorite that tie in all the chrome beautifully, and they're wrapped in 245/40/18 performance radials at every corner. Every bit as amazing as it looks, this is the kind of car that makes everyone else stop what they're doing and just stare at it. The good news is that it drives even better than it looks. Call today!
