1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Additional Info:
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible is powered by a 396ci V8 BIG BLOCK mated to a four-speed manual transmission. I acquired the car in 2017 and commissioned a repaint in dark blue pearl six months ago. A black convertible top and a black interior are equipped, and additional modifications include an Edelbrock manifold and carburetor, headers, custom exhaust, a Hurst shifter, 18″ and 20″ Rev wheels, and lowering springs as well as LED headlights and an updated audio system. Service completed in the past 200 miles included an oil and filter change, new spark-plug wires, and a carburetor adjustment. This Malibu is now offered with partial records, factory literature, a convertible-top boot cover, a factory air cleaner, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The exterior is finished in dark blue pearl that was applied over the winter of 2018–2019. Underneath, the front end was fitted with new upper joints, a sway bar, and 2″ lowering springs, while the back was dropped 3″ using heated stock springs.
Chrome-finished Rev Classics wheels measure 18″ in front and 20″ in back and are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza and Michelin Pilot Sport tires, respectively. All trim, lenses, and badging reportedly are new. Super Sport and 396 Turbo-Jet badges have been added, and LED headlights are now equipped. The black convertible top is faded, and the seller notes two tears that were patched from the inside. A crack is observed in the lower driver-side corner of the windshield.
The interior features black vinyl upholstery on bench seats with matching door panels, and the carpeting reportedly was re-dyed in recent months.
The freshly repainted dashboard houses gauges including a sweep 120-mph speedometer that is said to need a new cable. The five-digit odometer shows just over 76k miles, of which approximately 2,500 have been added by the seller. A retro-style modern radio with auxiliary inputs occupies the factory dashboard location, and sound plays through speakers mounted in custom vented kick-panel enclosures. The seller notes that the clock and the aftermarket tachometer currently are not connected.
The 396ci V8 is fitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor, and headers connect to a custom exhaust system. A T-handle Hurst shifter enables gearchanges for the four-speed manual transmission. Both the air cleaner pictured and the factory part come with the car. Service completed in the past 200 miles included an engine oil and filter change, fresh differential oil, a new fuel filter, new spark-plug wires, and adjustments to the timing and carburetor. The seller notes a small oil-pan leak and describes a light squeaking noise from the power-steering unit when the wheels are turned all the way to the left.
A convertible-top boot cover, the factory air cleaner, a spare tire and jack, factory literature, a service manual, and partial records are included in the sale.
