If there's one thing that can be done to improve this already desirable 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502 Pro Touring ragtop, that's add more power. As if the vivid paint wasn't enough, it now carries a thundering, fuel-injected Ramjet 502 big block V8 that flat-out stomps just about anything else you're likely to run into on the street. For those of us who hold firm to the notion that "there's no replacement for displacement", this pro-touring Chevy is a "must... see". Even not knowing what lives under the hood, this is a formidable-looking ragtop. Slick red paint was whipped up to give it an aggressive, hi-po look that's totally Chevy in the 1960s, accented with aggressive black SS stripes. The deep and shiny paint looks right on the A-body, and it was finished to a very high level that will make anyone proud to show it off. The work was done only 224 miles ago, so it's very fresh, but that's a good thing because you're definitely going to want to drive this one to shows and put a lot of miles on it. The cowl hood is aggressive, the blacked out upgraded SS grille and tail panels look great against the red finish, although the SS emblems on the front fenders is a bit of an understatement considering there's a Ramjet lurking below, albeit the kind that strikes fear into anyone else with a hot street car. The chrome is nicely finished, and with the oversized Billet Specialties wheels and black convertible top, it has a very distinctive look. The revamped black-and-red bucket seat interior is pretty impressive in its own right. It features an overall vintage look, but with some great upgrades added to create a one of a kind custom appearance. The wide Chevelle buckets and the bench seat behind them wear snug fitting vinyl covers and sit over fresh matching black carpeting that ties the entire cabin together. Just sliding into the driver's seat is enough to make your pulse quicken - as you grip the billet steering wheel, you'll find a full contingent of Dakota digital gauges in the instrument cluster - all of them fully functional - while the Hurst 4-speed manual shifter topped with a cue-ball knob waits within easy reach, housed in a factory-style center console that's also in great shape. A fresh, supple dash pad runs the width of the cabin just above the instrumentation, an R&B Vintage Audio AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo is there to handle your audio needs, and a new Vintage A/C system was installed for an ice-cold air option. The trunk area in back is neatly finished as well - with a relocated battery enclosure, a reproduction mat, and plenty of room to accommodate for almost any travel arrangement. Simply put, this Chevelle is a flat-out rocket. There's a fuel-injected Ramjet 502 cubic inch GM performance crate motor under that cowl hood - armed with aluminum heads and a chromed tunnel ram-style high-rise intake manifold, its output is substantial, offering a full horsepower per cubic inch. The custom-built headers at its sides combine with the X-pipe Flowmaster dual exhaust to produce a dominating note that's sure to draw attention as the big block pairs with a quick-shifting 4-speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly. A March serpentine system runs all the accessories, and a sizable aluminum radiator equipped with an electric fan stands by up front to keep temperatures under control. The engine bay is completely dressed for show, with chrome all over the block and accessories, neatly braided hoses and organized wires, and polished hood hinges that all pop out from the slick-painted inner fenders and firewall. Underneath it's dressed for show as well, featuring tubular front suspension, power steering and a sizable sway bar for sharp, easy handling and a great ride, and SSBC power 4-wheel disc brakes to provide excellent, fade-resistant stopping ability. A set of Billet Specialties wheels - 18" in front and 20" in back - perfectly complement the visual impact of this outstanding Chevelle, and they've been wrapped in 245/40/18 front and 295/35/20 rear Michelin performance radials to finish the killer look. Exceptional power and curb appeal combine with a skillfully restored interior to make this 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502 Pro Touring an absolute standout. Call today!
