1968 Chevrolet Camaro - Professionally Restored!
Extensively performance modified but retaining stock appearance, this 1968 Camaro is designed for the true enthusiast that wants it all. Professionally completely restored at a cost of over $70,000 and it remains in that condition. a CNC Motorsports small block that has been bored and stroked to 383 c.i. It has AFR heads, Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake manifold that the ports have been matched to the AFR heads with a 750 cfm Demon carburetor installed on the top of the manifold. The engine has a Comp Cams hydraulic roller XR300 HR cam, eagle competition 4340 forged steel rotating assembly with a compression ratio of 10.15 to one. The transmission is a Bow Tie automatic overdrive 200R4 rated to handle up to 600 h.p. with a 3200 rpm stall converter. The driveshaft is a stainless steel Dynoteck that is coupled to a 12 bolt Posi-Traction rear end equipped with 4.10 gears. The exhaust flows through full length ceramic coated 1 3/4 inch headers that connect to three inch Flowmaster full length exhaust system with Super 40 mufflers.
The stock sub frame has been retained with Hothkis sub frame connectors. In addition, Global West front and rear lowering springs as well as an after market front sway bar have been installed. The front suspension has been modified with Savitske Classic & Custom street-comp stage two front suspension kit including after market upper control arms. The brakes are Wilwood drilled and slotted rotors and calipers on all four wheels along with stainless brakes lines. The steering box is a Detroit Speed close ratio.
The sound system starts with a custom built amplifier and subs enclosed in the trunk with two additional Kicker amplifiers, two additional Boston Acoustic G5 12 inch subs and a pair of Boston Acoustic 6 1/2" component speakers with separate crossovers. This system is fed by a Pioneer Premier head unit. The performance of this system is simply outstanding.
As well as the mechanical modifications, numerous additions and updates were performed. The interior was completely refurbished including upgraded PorCar front bucket seats, Auto Meter full instrumentation, complete new wiring including the main harness as well as the fuse panel, after market steering wheel and Kumho Ecsta performance tires (275/40/R17's on the rear and 245/45/17's on the front) all mounted on polished Eagle Alloy aluminum wheels that have the classic Torque Thrust look.
The body was completely restored with new bright yellow paint with Camaro style black striping. All the glass is in exceptional condition with no visible defect of any kind. All the rubber moldings and seals were replaced and all the bright work was either replaced or restored. A cowl induction after market hood now replaces the stock hood.
