[isdntekvideo] Someone caring for their senior citizen father informed me that their father had purchased this vehicle accidentally. For those who were watching or had messaged me I apologize for the confusion.
In1983 I drove my 1975 Corvette across the Nevada desert one night and it is one of my best road trip memories. Hours on a two lane highway driving that stiff suspension sports car watching the headlight beams bounce up and down to the roads rhythm with the chorus of that V-8. No radio, no distractions, just jack rabbits and cactus. That's what this car reminds me of. They were both root beer brown with saddle brown interiors and not much to distinguish a 74 from a 75. I could have my eyes tied behind my back and identify the cars by the ride. It was America's premier sports car. By today's standards it is rough around the edges but who cares. It's a classic, it's a solid cruiser, it's a car that five year old kids, who know NOTHING about cars, will spontaneously say to you, "Cool car." And the frosting on the cake is if you care for it as the previous owners cared for it, if you drive it and maintain it as you should, when it comes time to sell it is worth more. Yeah, explain that to your resistant significant other. Oh, and it's also your weekend hobby project, time to grease the zirks, rotate the tires, change the oil, or go do some tinkering.
The 1974 Corvette that is here for sale is ready for that cross country cruise. Everything on it is tight, from the steering to the braking to the sound and function of its suspension to the way it almost instantly starts and idles without feathering the pedal and the firmness with which it shifts. The odometer says 73000 miles and I believe that they are accurate for the car. Just the general condition of everything supports that thought. I also believe that it is numbers matching. For the right serious buyer I will investigate that. It still has the ram horn exhaust, the Rochester carburetor, correct AC compressor, etc. Still has its identity and love that original steering wheel. Does anyone else get tired of seeing these grotesque aftermarket steering wheels on classic American cars? It has one cosmetically major departure from a very stock appearance and that would be the centerline wheels. If you don't like them, and I do, the original rally wheels are available. Centerlines are old school, like Cragar SS mags. They belong in 1974 and these are so perfect and new they will blind your eyes. Raised white letter tires turned to the inside. I thoroughly 'get' the look. This "look" is illustrated by the Harley crowd in contrast to the crotch rocket kids. The Harley is so distinctively American and cool with their V-twin and exhaust note one doesn't have to drive like an idiot to get noticed. You 'cruise' this car and every once in a while, when you have a nice on ramp or a straight stretch of road, you stretch its legs. My 75 would consistently make it to 150 something mph. That's fast. And you're not floating all over the road. It felt like I was doing 90. It was not a wild and dangerous experience.
You must watch the videos to have the best information. In the Walk Around I show EVERYTHING working (minus the clock and the factory radio). You see all of the gauges, the horn, the lights, the radio, the windshield wipers, the power windows, the AC compressor clutch engaged, etc. I made the videos for the buyer at a distance. There are two three ring binder notebooks which show the love and care put into this car by previous owners. This is not some beat up and abused pig with lip stick. The paint is around 9 years old but other than some very minor scratches and chips (that have all been painted to prevent them from flaking), the paint looks phenomenal. You can see my reflection as I walk around the car with the camera making the video. It is high gloss, thoroughly wet sanded and buffed, and clear that it has been always garaged, waxed and babied. It is also a testament to the quality of the work. This was a high end paint job when it was done and I would give it a 9 on a scale of 10 for present condition. The engine bay is beautiful. The centerline wheels are new and have zero damage. The tires are two years old and the tread depth is perhaps 80%. There is a newer tire in the spare tire bay under the car. There is a very nice aftermarket stereo in the car with a ten disc CD player with a remote. At some point a Borla exhaust system, a fiberglass rear leaf spring and four Bilstein shocks were installed. The steering and suspension on this car is a 10. In addition, this is a 'loaded' car. It has the tilt and telescoping wheel, a factory working car alarm, power windows, power brakes, fully functioning AC, and I would not hesitate to drive it cross country today. In fact, if you are the adventurous sort, and want to fly in and drive it home I will pick you up at the airport and have NO MISGIVINGS about putting you behind the wheel for a 1500 mile trip. I will also back up my belief in the mechanical reliability of this car with a GUARANTEE that if you should break down anywhere along the way I will pay for the car to be shipped to your home from wherever the break down occurs and make all of the arrangements. Who does that? See America in America's premier sports car and get nothing but thumbs up from everyone on the road.
There are a lot of liars on this site. If you have purchased a car at a distance oneBay before you may have experienced that. I am not one of them. I am also not just giving this car away. I'm not desperate, I'm not stupid and I am looking for a buyer who wants a nice car who knows the difference between a well cared for car and a painted up pig. I will jump through hoops to earn your business. Want more photos? Tell me where to point the camera. Do you want to FaceTime? Let's set it up. Want to have it inspected? Give me a call. Let me back that up as well. If I have misrepresented this car and your hired inspector points it out Iwill pay for your inspection. I can be reached at (817) 403-7723. Call any time because if I am asleep or busy myphone is turned off. If I see that I have a missed call I will return it.
Payment must be made by bank wire transfer or cash in person. This car is for sale on other venues and the ad may disappear at any time. My auctions almost always end with a phone call and a buy it now. This era of C-3 Corvettes are the best classic car buys out there. If it was a Camaro or a Chevelle or a Challenger, etc., it would be selling for 30k or more in this condition. This car at this price only has upside. Four wheel disc brakes,posi-traction and independent rear end, loaded and beautiful from the factory and under 20k. Think about that.
