1967 Chevrolet Impala SS 396 Additional Info:
1967 Chevrolet Impala SS 396 convertible 100% as built as documented by GM of Canada. Original number matching 396 325hp V8, Muncie 4 speed manual transmission, factory Air Conditioning (updated to 134a freon and blowing ice cold), Bucket seat interior with center console, tilt steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, am radio and power convertible top. I bought this car from the original owner's family after it had been stored in his garage in Boynton Beach Florida just north of where I live. The car was never offered for sale prior to my listing it. The odometer reads 11000 miles and is actually 111000 as per the original owners. I had went through the car mechanically, new 15" white letter tires and rally wheels, fluid change, new brakes, new exhaust, had the power steering box rebuilt due to a leak and new hoses, front end alignment and had the air conditioning converted and charged with 134a freon. As a Canadian built Chevrolet the GM Heritage papers are here documenting the car exactly as it sits. I am including the original 14" wheels and hubcaps with the car. The car starts easily and runs very strong. The clutch is smooth and the transmission shifts easily and without any grinding or binding. On the road the steering is tight and responsive. The brakes are near new and work as they did when new. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. The car has been repainted in its original color of Butternut Yellow (code YY on the tag) and retains its original and perfect for its age Black bucket seat interior. The paint is beautiful with little or no flaws in my opinion. The body on this car shows no signs of previous accident damage or rust and I believe all the body panels are original to the car. The doors, hood and trunk open and close nicely as they should and have excellent fit and gaps. According to the documentation there were 65 total coupe and convertible 396 4 speed SS Impalas made at the Ste.Therese Quebec plant. I understand there were Impalas built in other plants however only the Canadian cars are documented. I have done my best to describe this car but I am human and may have overlooked something. NADA old price guide prices this car at $65575 High Retail and $36130 average retail. I believe my asking price is fair given the condition, documentation and overall quality of the car.
