With its high impact style, the model represented an unabashedly full size take on the personal luxury car during its era, and this 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a fine specimen that displays its lengthy stylishness effectively. It's harboring a few well-chosen upgrades underneath its hood to up its performance game and is both running and driving great. This vintage Chevy was refreshed a while back with a coat of white paint that still shows a... nice smooth texture and remains in stock configuration, with a set of added clean aftermarket wheels being the only exception to its thoroughly factory style. While at close range you can detect a few subtle signs of wear, make no mistake about it: with its one of a kind profile and overall solid condition, this is a car that will demand plenty of attention just as it is, and a little exterior refinement here and there will elevate its considerable curb appeal even further. The body lines are nice and solid, with tight, even gaps surrounding the doors, hood and deck lid and the bumpers both fore and aft have been replaced to add to a consistently road-ready appearance. There's definitely a lot to like here - this is a great-looking ride, chock full of '70s style with its generous wheelbase, long hood area and sloping rear roofline. Above, the vinyl top is still fresh and supple, with no signs of bubbling or rust and from front to back, the array of brightwork is in fine form. The distinctive egg-crate front grille was added the very year this '72 came out to close out the first generation of the model and it too is in great shape. < BR> Considering the blue vinyl interior has yet to have seen any restoration, it's in pretty darned good shape. There are no serious issues to be found inside these doors - the front and rear bench seats are still in clean condition and wear well-fitted covers, though the carpet below them could stand with an eventual replacement, which isn't the most involved of undertakings and could be put off, considering the added floor mats in front and back do provide a properly finished look as it is. The dash area is a strong aspect of this classic, with a full complement of surprisingly clear gauges recessed into its burlwood patterned instrument cluster and an added Pioneer stereo that teams with a pair of Kenwood speakers mounted on the package tray in back to provide a strong audio experience. The aftermarket air conditioning is well up to the task of keeping up with these warmer months, so you and your passengers will have no trouble staying comfortable. The 350 cubic inch V8 standing by inside this Monte Carlo's sizable engine compartment has been decked for maximum operating efficiency and wears an Edelbrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor to further up its output. The powerplant starts up promptly and sends a deep rumbling exhaust note through the aftermarket headers out of its Flowmaster mufflers as it teams with a 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission. Upgraded electronic ignition provides more dependable starts and better all-around performance, power steering makes for easy navigation and power brakes that position discs up front bring prompt, fade resistant stops. This stylish Chevy cruises on a set of 15" American Racing Torq Thrust wheels that are wearing fresh, beefy rubber at all four corners. Below, the undercarriage appears impressively solid. Looking sharp and running great, this 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo offers a great combination of classic style and drivability. Call today!
