1949 Chevrolet Other Pickups Additional Info:
This truck was a super hero in its own time. It was a AAA service truck and its duties were to deliver gasoline, jump start, change tires, make small repairs and even plowing snow so it could rescue people and their loved ones in their time of need.In the engine compartment you will see someone even welded 2 ubolts to wrap jumper cables around for easy access. Each scar is a battle scar earned with pride. My mother bought it in 1980 and bought 4 new tires, 2 traction for the rear and 2 highway for the front. She only drove it a hand full of times. She never got her drivers licenses. It sat for 36 years or so. I got it running, it runs well. could use a full tune up and the rear ujoint will need to be replaced soon. The brakes worked great til the rear wheel cylinder popped and the master cylinder is a single reservoir so ALLbrake fluid leaks out. It runs with over 15 psi oil pressure which means the babbit bearings are good. No smoke even with the 92 octane non ethanol gas mixed with Stihl premium synthetic 2 stroke oil mixed. I will throw in a gas can with about a gallon of that gas as I did not flush out the tank. Also does not come with a battery. What you see is what you get. Payment to be cash.
