NICE CAR THAT NEEDS A NEW HOME WITH SOME LOVE AND USE!
CAR HAS ONLY MILES SINCE ALL WORK WAS DONE IS 1,326 ON ODOMETER, BUT I BELIEVE IT IS LESS DUE TO THE SPEEDO GEAR!!!
This was purchased as a project for my sons first car and took us a couple years to finish. It would make a great car for a younger person that maybe cant afford a true numbers matching car. We finished the car and shortly there after he bought a 2015 F250 Platinum and the poor Camaro just sits unused now.We are not 100% sure if it was a true Z28 when we got it so I am not claiming it is, we had questions also I could never completely answer, however we did our best to make it as close as we could. This car has had a tone of work done to it before we put it on the road for him to drive. I will describe everything we did and what we noticed and answer any questions to the best of my ability. The things we noticed while we were working on it is the front fenders appeared to be stock with the Z28 louvers done at the factory and we were told Z28s only had the louvers in 1979. It had a 1980 hood on it when we got it and there was no front lower spoiler.
All rotted or rusting metal was cut out and mig welded in, both front floor pans, and a few patch panels on the exterior. All body work and paint and graphicswere done in 2016. Most of the mechanical work was done in late 2014 early 2015
Motor and Transmission were rebuild 2015
Brake components were replaced with new parts calipers, wheel cylinders, drums, rotors, hardwareeven the lines areNEW
NEW Carb, New fuel line, New tires, New shocks, NewCarpet, New Seat upholstery, New Custom Gauges. Dash, Console, Door Panels were all cleaned and re-dyed,
Things that need addressing,
A/C if you want it
Speedometer a little off, needs a new plastic speed gear in trans
Fuel gauge is fickle and works most of the time, the send in unit is new.
Rear Spoiler paint cracked (see last pic) but could be done separated from the car
Please message any questions, I have described this the best I can. It is a nice older car but it is not a perfect commercial restoration.
