1972 Chevrolet C-10 Additional Info:

Up for sale is a sweet 1972 Chevrolet C10 Long Bed pickup. Truck has just finished a frame-off restoration and several upgrades were done.
This was a Texas truck that I bought last year. If you look at the very last picture in the listing, you will see what the truck looked like when I got it. It was pretty much spotless. I had to repair the right front fender at the bumper and replace the inner wheel well on that side too, due to being located under the battery tray. That was really all the metal work that was needed. Floors are all original, cab mounts are original, cab corners are original, etc.
The truck was originally equipped with a 350 engine and a Turbo 350 transmission. I ended up installing a 1969 396 engine I had. This engine was sent to the machine shop and bored .010" over and the crank was cut .020" on the rods and mains. New standard compression pistons were installed, new double row timing chain and all brand new components. A complete valve job was done on the original heads. It is essentially a brand new engine. I did upgrade the camshaft slightly over stock. The truck is running a stock HEI electronic distributor. I installed a Holley Sniper fuel injection unit, rather than a carburetor. The complete kit was installed from Holley and the truck is running its original fuel tank with a new sender unit installed.
I replaced the transmission with a 700R4 overdrive transmission, which is also completely professionally rebuilt. The driveshaft was shortened appropriately. There are new u-joints and carrier bearing installed. The rear end is original to the truck. This truck has a coil spring rear suspension with truck arm suspension.
As you see from the pics, the truck was totally disassembled. The frame was cleaned and painted with Chassis Saver in satin black. All fuel and brake lines were replaced. All brake rubber hoses were replaced. Calipers and wheel cylinders and brake shoes and disc pads were replaced. Wheel bearings were replaced. Transmission lines were replaced and an auxiliary cooler installed. The truck now has an aluminum radiator.
I added Vintage Auto Air to the truck, so it is now air conditioned.
The exterior body was straightened, sealed with epoxy and painted with PPG base/clear. It has not been buffed, but could be, if you wanted to. The color is factory original. There is spray on bedliner in the bed.
The interior is all brand new. The seat cover and foam is new, the dash pad is new, the carpet and underlayment is new. the dash cluster is new. We added kick panels that house speakers. There is an AM/FM/MP3 player installed and it all works. All he weatherstrips are new. all the exterior chrome is new - all of it. Door trim panels are new. Handles and window cranks are new. The bottom of the body as all undercoated.
The front suspension was all tight, so I left it alone. The grille is original and in great shape. Wouldn't hurt to have new shocks in the front.
The tires now have about 500 miles on them. The wheels are freshly painted.
This one was a nice one to do because it was a super nice truck to start. It was one of the best ones I had ever seen. I understand its a long bed, but they drive SO much better than a short one. Perfect for a cruiser.
The big block, overdrive and A/C make is a super nice cruiser. It runs up the road at 70 MPH at like 1900 - 2000 RPMs
