1970 Chevrolet Caprice Additional Info:
This is Jean, our families Original Caprice Coupe with a matching numbers 454/390 hp motor and automatic 400 transmission. We purchased this car in 1987 from a family friend and my mother, now 79 years old, use to drive this back and forth to school ( she was a school teacher) on nice days, The car is 100 percent original matching number car except the carburetor, brake master cylinder and exhaust manifolds. It was painted once years ago prior to our ownership of it. The interior is all original except a replacement carpet from ACC. We started to clean up the engine compartment but as you can tell from the pictures, but have not finished it. All of the parts less one of the air conditioning brackets are in the trunk. It has bias ply tires on it and shows its original vinyl top in great condition. The car has and original 64,000 miles on it. Years ago I contacted General Motors about this car/engine combo and received back from them a booklet and letter stating their "rarest of the rare" information. We actually had two of these at one time and sold the other one to a person overseas. I personally have never seen a 454/390 car listed anywhere, just the 454/345 hp until I saw one cross the block on Mecum about a month ago. That car sold for 30 plus thousand.
The car is in incredible shape and very solid as you can see from the pictures. The motor runs well and as it should and all other components work. The car is equipped with tilt wheel, air conditioning, am/fm radio, green cloth interior, black vinyl top, big block finned hubcaps, power steering, clock and fender skirts. The underside of the car is solid and there are NO HOLES or rot in this car. There are some bubbles on the lip of the hood as shown in the pictures. This is an original, very rare car. I currently own several autos but this Caprice is by far the most sentimental to me of all. I am selling it because it is time for someone to finish it and drive it as it was intended to be used for. As you can tell from the pictures, it has sat inside our garage for a long time. All I did was quickly wash it. All sales are final without warranty. We do NOT accept Paypal for items over 500.00 in value. Pre-sale inspections are welcome and questions are encouraged. Item must be paid in full prior to shipment with certified check or wire transfer. I would encourage all serious Chevrolet collectors to look at this car. I place all of my items on Ebay to sell and not keep. Please do not hesitate to make an offer. Anyone with 20 or less feedback must contact us prior to bidding or your bid will be automatically removed.Thank you.
