This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is the custom machine that's fully dressed in a midnight package inside and out. And because this is pure intimidation on wheels, there's a fuel-injected big block, five-speed, and a ton of other upgrades to make sure it's really just as mean as it looks. This car just looks like it's lurking in the darkness even if its noon. It starts with the slick black that has the kind of good gloss that... loves to draw attention. But the reason the car looks like it wants to inhale all the light around it is because everything that has traditionally been brightwork is now part of the blackout package, too, like the trim, mirrors, and bumpers. And oh yes, there's a ton of custom work. Up front, the nose is one piece and completely smooth. The headlights and LED haloes are deep in the grille, and they're now hidden by the long overhand and custom chin spoiler. Speaking of spoilers, they expertly integrated a complete rear wing on this Sting Ray. Along the side, are a great set of side pipes. Those are usually the most noticeable elements on a car, but here there's so much rubber meeting the road on those 15-inch dark turbine-style wheels, that those are what really consume your gaze. But the part that really makes this mean machine memorable is the hood. This one wants to announce its beastly motor even without the exhaust note, and there's a massive power bulge right up front. And Corvette fans will be instantly attracted to this, because it keeps with some vintage tradition as it expertly integrates the C2 Corvette's early big block hood with the later C3's L88 hood. There's a color-matched black hardtop for those who want a coupe-like profile, but even when open to the world, this one never loses the full midnight attitude. The full restoration of this car was completed in 2017, and you can tell by the fresh condition of the full black interior. Bucket seats and a thin & grippy steering wheel are what you expect from a Sting Ray, so there's some vintage flair, but this one is really all about the upgrades. Some of these are about comfort/convenience, like the Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with touchscreen interface and Bluetooth. There's also cold-blowing R134a air conditioning so that this mean Corvette always feels nice to drive. But a lot of the upgrades are also about the performance. You have crisp Classic Instruments gauges, cool black billet shifter, and a Holley EFI full interface. Under the hood is where the beast lives. Chevrolet's 427 cubic-inch is already a legend in many circles for being the big block motor of choice. And this is just the base for a pure performance package. It's has been upgraded and enhanced with a full Holley Terminator electronic fuel injection system that can be adjusted from the comfort of the driver's seat. Plus, there's an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, MSD distributor, and a wicked set of heat-wrapped headers feeding the thunderous side pipes. And while this build looks pure evil, they made sure it was a pleasure to drive with features like the aluminum radiator w/electric fan (it helps keep this one running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping.) Fresher bushings and suspension components keep this feeling tight on the road. Plus, you have a fully independent suspension, power brakes w/discs up front, and an upgrade to a strong Tremec 3550 five-speed manual transmission. The sale comes with restoration photos and receipts of over $63k invested in this custom build. You can instantly see this is a mean machine, and now you know it's also a thoughtful build. So you know it's the ultimate classic Corvette, and this may be your only chance to take it home. Call today!!!
