1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Additional Info:
This is a custom Corvair built on a full size frame from what is believed to be a 1977 Impala. The conversion was nicely done in that it is proportionate to the wheel base but the wheels slightly wider, which is why the tires are sitting slightly outside of the wheel wells about 2 inches front and back. Perhaps with wheels not so offset there is a gain to be had that will set the wheels more within the wheel well. Otherwise the car looks good.
The body is very straight. The panels line up nicely. The doors open and shut without sagging. All glass is in tact and the regulators operate the window's movement easily.
The car has Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, It is a manual shifted 4 speed, I do not know what rear end gears are in the car. And it has a 3 carb intake from Offenhauser with the tri-carbs atop.
The carburators were just rebuilt, New fuel pressure regulator was installed, the oil changed and I have purchased but not yet installed a new water pump, alternator, starter and belts. It does not need these but I bought them to replace and cover all basis. It has an external electric fuel pump that is easy to get to. It is currently a runner, driver car. And runs on 87 Octane
You will see the passenger side on one of the photos has different wheels. This is because I was looking to see what it looked like with different wheels over the white wheels it came with but buyer can have either set. The tires are okay on both sets but I would replace them more so on the set of the white wheels.
There was a heater core installed in rear compartment where the gas tank now resides as well.
It is a 53 year old car and customized. That said there is no guarantees whether written, expressed or implied and the car is being sold As-Is. The car is also being sold locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold locally. The car has a clear and marketable title.
The buyer is responsible for shipping fees but I will assist in loading.
The black on the roof is not a vinyl top.
Having said all the above, the car's cabin is a bit cramped for me as the floor appears to be about 3 inches higher than normal Corvair floors and I am sure it is because of the frame that was used. It is a solid floor but just too cramped for a person of my size.
Any questions will be answered in PM as my job does not allow me to use the computer for personal use and does not allow personal cell phone discussions.
