1970 Chevrolet Nova SS 396 Additional Info:
This is a super rare and extremely clean 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS with the L78 396 375HP engine and Muncie 4-speed. This beast has four bolt mains, a forged steel crank and rods, a nasty solid lifter cam, and free breathing cylinder heads sitting under a high flow aluminum intake with single Holley four barrel. With 11.0 to 1 compression, this animal produces 375 tire shredding horsepower. All this might goes rearward through a Muncie close ratio 4 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, and on to a GM 12 bolt rear axle with 3.55 gears and posi-traction. Dual exhaust helps this monster exhale and gives the bad boy Nova a mean growl. Brakes are power front disc and rear drum inside of 14" SS rally wheels wrapped in period correct Goodyear Polyglas tires. The excellent exterior of this awesome machine is painted a beautiful and understated shade of green GM called "Fathom Green". This subdued hue really plays into the overall sleeper appeal, and outside of the SS badging on the front grill and rear panel, you wouldn't know what lurked under the hood of this beast until it was too late. The interior is every bit as nice as the exterior, and just as subdued. A real no frills street machine, this bad boy is only meant to go fast. The only optional extra is the factory AM radio. Base bench seat and a heater are the only other niceties. This Nova is the automotive equivalent of a Unicorn. True SS L78 Nova's are extremely rare, and this particular example has all the right boxes checked. This would make an excellent investment and gives you the opportunity to still have some fun with your money. You can't lay black marks with your 401k!! et it before it's gone!!
