Here is a unique and interesting take on one of the favorite cars of the custom street rod scene. Creative minds were working overtime on this one, and then skilled craftsmen built the vision. The results are impressive. Check it out. For starters, this car is another nicely done Chevy 5 Window. But you can tell right away that it has a bit more attitude than usual. There is a pretty aggressive chassis rake built into it... and the look is further enhanced by the staggered tire profiles. The shape of the body is, of course, the definition of classic, and this shade of Red can appear bright, matching the aggressive look of the chassis, or a bit deeper and richer, depending on the light. At the front of that long, tapered hood is a custom chrome grill that stretches from way up high to darn near the ground. It's underlined by a simple chrome bumper and teardrop headlights are perched on either side of it. Front fenders flare back to body colored running boards with Chevrolet step plates logically place to protect them, and the rear fenders flow into the trunk with a simple and super clean look that has nothing but a couple teardrop taillights and a trunk handle. Nice. Open the door and get ready to feast your eyes on a full custom interior done in Tan and Red. It starts with flames on the door panels that are matched by the kick panels for a smooth integrated look. A Grant GT steering wheel is mounted on a polished and chromed tilt column with a shifter for the automatic transmission. Behind it the dash is set up with Dakota Digital gauges with the speedo in the center flanked by fuel, oil, voltage and water monitors. In the center you will find a Pioneer FM/CD head unit that pumps the sounds out through Sony speakers mounted in the back shelf and below that are the controls for the Vintage Air heat and A/C system. The beautiful rich leather used to cover the bench seat is carried through onto the rear shelf and was even used for the headliner for an amazing and again, integrated look. Now for some fun. When you pop the hood, it will lift up and tilt forward. Tucked down inside a neat and clean engine bay is a 383 V8 motor that is dressed for the show too. The big round air cleaner feeds an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock TM1 intake manifold. The belts and hoses are fresh as well as the plugs cap and wires that provide the fire. Polished aluminum valve covers look great and long tube headers get the spent gasses out and flowing back to Pypes free flow mufflers. An aluminum radiator with an electric fan keeps things running cool and the power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear axle mounted on leaf springs. Up front, a coil over shock system works through tubular control arms with power rack and pinion steering for control. Power 4-wheel disc brakes provide great stopping power and the rubber meets the road through 255/70R15s in the back and 205/65R15s in the front mounted on Billet Specialties wheels. A wonderfully unique and creative take on the classic 5-Window built by some very skilled craftsmen. Come on down and check this car out. Then take it on home with you and start planning your adventures in it.
