Looking to get behind the wheel of a ride with maximum visual impact? Look no further. Imagine the double takes you'll get when you're seen coming over the horizon in this 1935 Chevrolet Deluxe Rat Rod. Its niche is all about transforming a vintage car into a no holds barred, one of a kind result and this Chevy delivers on that, combined with a surprisingly comfortable interior and a top notch, highly-adjustable suspension. With its patina-covered... exterior, long wheelbase and ultra-low profile, this '35 will stand out in any crowd of modded classics. It's the epitome of what a rat rod was intended to be all along, with an overall appearance that's equal parts hot rod and Mad Max. Having rolled off the assembly line more than 80 years ago, it's had plenty of time develop its unique finish and it's worn like a badge of honor. There's a 4" drop axle up front, with a proportional lowering in back to create a "slammed down" stance you won't soon forget. That authentic-style front grille seems to arrive well before the rest of the car, and its aggressively angled position serves to warn others out of the way. The suicide doors add even more distinction, while the original spare still mounted in back is a visual harkening back to this Chevy's previous traditional life. Inside, burlap covered door panels sit to each side of a pair of thoroughly modern tan leather bucket seats lifted from a Mercedes, one of many distinctive touches on display here. The floor shifter sits on a nicely modded transmission tunnel with an assortment of control switches just behind it and wherever you look, you'll see a striking contrast between vintage and modern elements - aftermarket gauges to monitor engine functions and switches to adjust the suspension sit side by side in front of a dash area that's been kept in otherwise original configuration, with a sizable tachometer mounted on the steering column. With its ultra-rugged overall appearance, this Chevy's cockpit would be about the last place you'd expect to find the comfort of air conditioning, but it's on board and blowing strong - with the a/c ducts extending directly through the dash, it cools the interior in short order. A 350 cubic inch V8 sits in full view inside the compartment with its open-ended headers raised as if poised to strike. It's a well-equipped engine, wearing a pair of Vortec heads, a Weiand intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb that sits underneath a chrome Summit air cleaner. There's a performance cam also added to the mix, combining with the collection of top tier components for an output of over 400 horsepower and a full 450 lb-ft of torque. Chrome pulleys and a chrome alternator add to the eye candy on display here. This Chevy is well-equipped for inspired driving. The 350 pairs with a sturdy 3-speed automatic TH350 transmission and, with two radiators installed - one in the grille shell and another under the car, both equipped with electric fans - overheating won't likely ever be an issue. Disc brakes at all four corners provide fade resistant stopping power, while air bag suspension in both front and rear provides plenty of height adjustability. It's one seriously head turning ride on its set of 15" black steel wheels - solid in front and wagon-style in back. This rat rod was built over a custom chassis, and if you take a look below, you'll see it's looking very solid. Sporting plenty of power, looks that will get all kinds of attention and a surprisingly comfortable interior, this 1935 Chevrolet Rat Road is a unique find. Call today!
