I purchased this car a few years ago from a good friend of mine who traded a Harley for this car from a guy in California. I drove it to shows and for pleasure but it had the original numbers matching engine in it. It was very tired and very worn looking. It even had the smog pump system still on it because in CA, it had to have it to pass their strict emissions testing. The engine started smoking and leaking so I quit driving it. Finally this winter I decided to do something about the engine. I ended up buying a new GM crate engine rather than rebuild the original due to the cost. The engine is completely detailed with lots of new parts. Edelbrock 600 CFM Carb and intake, new starter, new alternator, new water pump, new fuel pump, new balancer, new Pertronix distributor and coil, new sensors, new chrome dipstick, and new chrome valve covers. I've still got the original engine if you want it with the car.
This car drives so good, it's hard to believe it is 47 years old! I love driving it. The paint and body on this car are almost flawless. Being black, it hides NOTHING. Look at the pics to see how straight and clean it is. Even the bed is very nice and PAINTED, not Rhino lined! The trim and chrome are excellent as well. The interior is very nice with a cloth bench seat, which really helps keep it comfortable. The air conditioning works and has been converted to 134A.
The under carriage is untouched and original, which means it's dirty! I was going to clean it and spray a little paint on it but decided to just show it as it is. I didn't want it look like I was trying to hide something. I drive this car so it's going to get dirty, but if you look, it is rock solid underneath. No rusty floors, inner fenders, etc. A little cleaning and detail work and it would look better.
The tires and wheels are brand new with less than a 1,000 miles on them.
This really is a nice car, a great driver and a good investment. Come look for yourself, because the pictures really don't do it justice.
The reason I am selling it is I have too many cars and need to downsize. I can't keep them all nice and running like I want to due to physical issues.
