What we have here is a last year 4 speed 81 c3 with an L82.
82 only came in an auto.
Car only has 72k and all numbers matching.
I’ve owned this car for the past 9 years and spent 3 of those years restoring it from the ground up.
Starting with the interior,
I ripped everything out period.
The whole interior except for the dash and center console has been replaced.
The entire interior has been wrapped in dana-mat sound and heat insulation.
New carpet with sound insulation was then installed. Seat cushions are new and wrapped in genuine leather that look and smells great. the power seats work as they should.
I Also replaced the door panels with leather ones to match the seats and the center console kick panels.
No expense was spared, this was going to be a keeper until my son decided he no longer wanted it and decided to tell me after all the work was done.
The sound system sounds great, I installed new speakers and an amp.
All the gauges work as they should, even the power antennae works.
The under carriage is where I spent most of my time, everything that could be un-bolted came off, refinished and put back.
All the rubber from the body mounts to the ball joints have been replaced with factory rubber or poly-urethane.
A complete suspension over-haul and upgrade was done using vbp part# https://customimagecorvettes.com/product/vbp-street-slalom-suspension-kit-1963-1982/
All the brakes where over-hauled with rebuilt original calipers, new hawk pads and rotors and topped off with stainless steel brake lines.
Car stops just as good as a late C4 vette and handles better.
All the bushings for the control arm’s, sway bars, etc have been replaced.
The undercarriage show’s very well. There is no rust or rot on any of the floor pan’s or frame.
The undercarriage is very clean!!
Exhaust is a true dual with H-pipe and cat delete.
Under the hood you will find the original L-82 completely stock and all emissions intact.
Radiator is a new 4 core aluminum with all new hoses throughout the engine bay.
Car has had the valve stem umbrella’s replaced due to a slight puff of smoke at start-up after the car has been sitting.
Car run’s as it should without a trace of oil burning or any sort of leak.
Motor has been completely tuned up with new plugs, wire, cap, etc.
Just changed the oil with Mobil1 syntheti, (I do every year regardless of use or mileage).
a/c worked before I re-freshed the motor compartment but have not recharged the system. It still uses the original gas so I haven’t found anyone local that can charge it.
We did a pressure test and the system will hold a charge.
This is a car I can sell my next door neighbor and not have to worry about phone calls regarding issues, you can drive this car to the west coast and back without a care.
The paint show’s well for it’s age but to make it a show piece it will need a paint job. That was going to be my next move until I found out my son lost interest, so I decided to cut my loses and move on.
From 5 feet away the paint looks very good, if you get up close and personal you will see some cracking and spider-webbing.
Again, a real paint job will make this car a show stopper.
I want to be clear, I do not need to sell but would like to.
Not looking for tire kickers or someone looking to waste my time.
This is a car for a person that just wants to get in an enjoy the drive not having to worry if they are going to get stranded.
Inspections are welcomed and test drives given with proof of funds.
