1970 Chevrolet Other Pickups CST Additional Info:
1970 K10 step side short box. This pickup was restored 12 years ago with OEM and NOS parts where possible. It has a 400 big block with a 4 speed Muncie transmission and a NP205 transfer case. Both front and rear differentials are limited slip with a 3.07 ratio. The front axle was upgraded to a disc brake axle (Dana 44) assembly from a '78 C10. The engine has an aftermarket fuel injection system from Affordable Fuel Injection Systems. I have the original intake and carburetor if desired. All mechanical units (engine, transmission, transfer case and axle units) were completely taken apart and overhauled. It is a CST model with many factory options including A/C, power steering and brakes, tilt wheel, speed warning indicator, tachometer,AM/FM, and more. I also added a OEM vacuum gauge and cab marker lamps which are GM lamps but do not have the "bump" in the cab roof. This pickup was meticulously built from the frame up with no reasonable expense spared. The seats have the original style cloth/vinyl seat covers. I have driven it 1173 miles since the rebuild, so there are a few minor signs of use. There are four bags of tags from most of the new parts put into this project, many of which are NOS GM. NOS GM parts include Radiator support, inner and outer grilles, speed warning speedometer, both front fenders and inner skirts, Hood and hinges, Power steering gear box, A/C control, sport mirror assemblies, steering wheel, and many, many more.A couple notes for accuracy, the check engine light for the fuel system came on, when I started it up this spring, not sure why, but still seemed to run good. It stays off sometimes as well. The starter works good, but has a very short whine after the engine starts, still works good. The new bell housing must not allow starter enough clearance to disengage as soon as it should.
