1977 Chevrolet G20 Van Shorty Additional Info:
Up for auction is my 1977 Chevy Project, I purchased this van a few years back in Florida from a friend who had just had it shipped in from Arizona. He sold it to me because he had found a different one that was ready to go for him as this one needed the engine rebuilt due to low compression. I had it shipped to my house in NJ and started working on it, I pulled the engine and had it completely rebuilt by JASPER'S AUTHENTIC DEPARTMENT. The special department follows the engine completely through a restoration and rebuild process... cost was $3000+ I sent out the alternator, water pump, starter, fan clutch, harmonic balancer, etc. to a corvette restoration company and had these pieces restored properly. Rebuilt steering pump, gas tank is all cleaned out, NOS sending unit, had the stock exhaust manifolds set up with new studs and JET HOT coated them. I had the rims sandblasted and epoxy primed and painted in factory off white as they were resprayed by someone at one point and didn't look good.
I was going to install a 700r4 overdrive transmission and found a nice core and had it fully rebuilt locally. The stock turbo 350 goes with it and was working fine when I pulled it out. Why am I selling it? During the process of having the engine rebuilt I purchased a house on Nantucket Island and by the time the engine came back I had just enough time to install it into the van with new engine mounts and new grade 8 bolts. And "temporarilly" put it into storage as I had to move out of my house. Well temporarily has turned into 3 years later and I still don't have the time to touch it and living on an Island definitely has its challenges with connecting with the real world for simple tasks. This van is completely rust free outside of a little bubble on the lower corner of the drivers door. the factory primer is all underneath it still.
The photos of it assembled are BEFORE I took the engine out. It is not in this state currently, as you can see from the other photos (the hood, grill, etc.). The van doesn't come with seats... just the metal bases and tracks.
It's a true survivor and will be an awesome van when it's bolted back together. There is well over 10,000 dollars invested into this project. The radiator and air conditioning condenser and compressor are boxed up as I was going to send them off and have them restored. Did the radiator leak? NO. Did the air conditioning work? Yes. I was just going to proactively have them redone. I'm starting the bid low at $2000 Please look at photos and ask questions. PICK UP IS IN RED BANK NJ 07701 ALL BIDDERS MUST COORDINATE WITH ME ON HOW YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE IT HOME! I live on an island and its hard for me to schedule time and get to NJ... so let's talk about your plans.
