According to the original title in our possession, Mr. Frederick T. Webster of Southgate, Michigan purchased this car brand new. When new, he ordered a Drag Package installation by the delivering Chevrolet dealer, which included 780cfm Holley carb (GM) upgraded intake manifold, rectangular port cylinder heads, high compression forged pistons and rods, solid lifter cam, upgraded Muncie transmission and bell housing, and upgraded rear end. Then, since 1992, the car has been tucked away in storage. From the factory, the car was painted one-year-only British Green (code 983) over a Standard Black interior. The car is powered by the original, numbers matching L36 427ci/390hp 4bbl V8 mated to the original 4-Speed gearbox. In the Spring of 2018, the car was pulled out of storage and completely overhauled mechanically. RPM Inc. of Jenison, MI began a 9-month rebuild of the motor and accompanying performance parts, totaling over $14k in receipts. It was professionally balanced and now runs exceptionally well. Power was rated at 400hp on the Dyno. Beyond this recent engine work and the upgrades Mr. Webster made to the car when new, the car remains highly original. The paint and interior remain untouched from the factory. Also, the 23,700 miles on the odometer are believed to be original. So the question is: drive the hell out of it as-is with original cosmetics, or restore the body and make it show car? The choice is up to you. Either way, the 427 motor is dialed in for its next home. All original parts to restore to factory original specifications accompany the car, including the dealer ordered Drag Pack components. It also comes with a folder full of recent mechanical receipts and original paperwork, such as the original title and original registration records from Mr. Webster. It is a unique piece and Chevrolet only made 9,936 Corvette Coupes, and even less in British Green. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
