Multiple Award Winner - Gorgeous Custom with Excellent Fit and Finish - Professionally Built 409ci V8/Borg Warner T10 4 Speed Manual - Lots of Documentation - (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. Chevrolet Delray - Show Winner Garage Kept Motors is pleased to offer the cleanest 50's Chevy's we've ever brought to market. This vehicle has always been a West Michigan car and has approximately 31k miles on the body. The car was originally owned by local legend Bob Dueling who raced the car from 1959 to the mid 60's. In 1963, a brand new 409 motor was installed and our client, the genius behind the restoration, bought the car in 1973. He then sold it to a friend in 1977 where it sat for almost 20 years, with only 250 miles recorded. In 1995, he bought it back but didn't start the restoration until 2010. And wow, the results are stunning. Since the restoration was completed in 2014, this Delray has been honored with the Street Rodder Magazine TOP 100 Award in 2014, which means it was the best 100 built cars in the country. The car was also featured on the cover of Summit Racing Magazine for their May/June 2016 issue. Further, it has been featured in several Hot Rod Magazines, such as Lane Automotive Best of Show, Best Paint, and Best Engineered Awards in several car shows. The fit and finish on this car is flawless. Our client also painted the 1961 Impala and 1959 Corvette listed for sale on our website. The work is the nicest we've ever seen. The Delray underwent a full frame off restoration with some tasteful modifications, including gas filler being relocated to inside the trunk and all emblems removed from the hood, trunk lid, and quarter panels. Body was painted in self-named "Bright Ass Red" with Diamont base coat, clear coat. The interior was professionally assembled by LA Trim of Lowell, MI, which also features custom interior door handles by Lokar, Alpine stereo system, Vintage AC and heat/defrost, new EZ wiring system, LED tail lamps, Analog gauges by Dakota Digital, and Ididit tilt steering column. All exterior trim and bumpers have been re-chromed and all exterior stainless steel has been buffed and polished to mirror finish. Now onto the powerplant. This Delray is pulled by the desirable Z11 block 409ci/400hp V8 engine, professionally built by CD Engine Service of Hudsonville, MI. Upgraded components include March pulley system, Sanderson headers, Tri-Power carburetor system built by Hotrod Carbs, Great Falls Montana, and Larry Fulton Inc, 2.5-Inch Exhaust, Almunium Radiator with electric fan by Cooling Components, and Mallory ignition. Every thing is tidy and works with perfection. As the odometer indicates, the car has only 1,956 miles since the restoration. The chassis is supported by CPP A-Arms, CPP 4-Wheel Disc Brakes with Chrome Master Cylinder, Ride Tech Air-Ride System, Un-I-Steer Power Rack and Pinion steering, Posi Rear End with 355 Gears, and Borg Warner T10 Transmission with 4-Speed shifter. The frame was completely smoothes with boxed trailing arms and custom pan hard bar painted with base coat, clear coat. Overall, its a phenomenal machine. With all known ownership history and top build accolades, you could not come close to sourcing and building this vehicle for the price offered here. It is a stunning example that will drop jaws wherever taken. This is a no disappointment vehicle for a new owner that understands quality craftsmanship. Wouldn't she look great in your garage?
