THIS IS AN UNRESTORED DOCUMENTED 427 4-SPEED COUPE. BEAUTIFUL COLORS. I BELIEVE I AM THE SECOND REGISTERED OWNER. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD AND APPEARS TO BE LOW MILEAGE BUT I HAVE NO WAY TO DOCUMENT THE MILES - IT SHOWS 36,342 ON THE ODOMETER TODAY. IT HAS A MUNCIE 4-SPEED WITH 3.70 GEAR AND POWER STEERING. I HAVE OWNED IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF - I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A DEALER IN ILLINOIS AND RECIEVED ORIGINAL PAPERWORK SUCH AS: ORIGINAL PROTECTO-PLATE (THE OWNERS NAME ON THE PROTECTO-PLATE IS THE SAME NAME THAT WAS ON THE TITLE 50 YEARS LATER) - THAT LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT I AM THE SECOND OWNER. I DID RECIEVE SOME ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK SUCH AS ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, RADIO BROCHURE AND JACKING INFORMATION - ALL THIS PAPERWORK IS ORIGINAL, NOT REPRODUCTION. THE TANK STICKER / BUILD SHEET IS STILL ON THE GAS TANK.I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF EVER SELLING THIS CAR AS THEY ARE HARD TO FIND IN THIS UNRESTORED ORIGINAL CONDITION.
THE CAR DOES NEED PAINT - THE PICTURES LOOK BETTER THAN THE PAINT REALLY IS. THE BODY IS STRAIGHT, THE HOOD, HEADLIGHTS AND DOORS FIT VERY WELL. IT APPEARS TO HAVE ALL OF IT'S ORIGINAL BODY PANELS. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED ONCE IN IT'S LIFE BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THEY PAINTED THE DOOR JAMBS - PROBABLY DONE SOMETIME IN THE 1970'S. THE INTERIOR IS VERY NICE. INTERIOR LIGHTS WORK, GAUGES ARE ALL BRIGHT - ALL OF THEM WORK AS THEY SHOULD, THE TACH. IS FINE BUT IT DOES HAVE A CABLE DRIVE ISSUE SO IT WILL NEED REPAIR, IT DOES HAVE THE ORIGINAL RADIO, I BELIEVE IT WORKS BUT THE SPEAKERS ARE NOT HOOKED UP SO I CAN'T BE SURE, WIPER DOOR OPENS AND CLOSES AS IT SHOULD, WIPERS WORK CORRECTLY, HEADLIGHTS GO UP AND DOWN PROPERLY. THE CAR HAS WHAT I BELIEVE ARE THE ORIGINAL KEYS AND LOCKING GAS CAP. I HAVEN'T LOOKED BUT I WAS TOLD AT THE TIME OF THE PURCHASE THAT THERE IS AN ORIGINAL REDLINE TIRE AS A SPARE. NICE JACK AND LUG WRENCH - APPEARS TO BE CORRECT BUT NEVER VERIFIED - BELIEVED TO BE ORIGINAL TO THE CAR.
PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE OF THE CAR, THE DEALER IN ILLINOIS PUT A NEW ALUMINIZED EXHAUST SYSTEM AND REBUILT THE BRAKES WHICH INCLUDED CALIPERS, PADS AND IT HAS THE ORIGINAL GM CORRECT DC MASTER CYLINDER. THE CAR IS VERY QUIET AND RUNS SMOOTH. WHEN I GOT IT HOME TO FLORIDA, I INSTALLED A NEW BATTERY AND RADIATOR FOR RELIABILITY - THE ORIGINAL RADIATOR IS INCLUDED IN THE SALE. I FLUSHED THE COOLANT AND OIL CHANGE. I ALSO INSTALLED THE HURST WHEELS AND BFG TIRES. THE ORIGINAL AG RALLYS ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE SALE. I DRIVE THIS CAR LOCALLY ONCE WEEKLY OR SO, RUNS COOL AND I'VE HAD NO ISSUES MECHANICALLY.
THIS CAR HAS ONE OF THE NICEST WINDSHEILD FRAME / BIRDCAGES ANYONE COULD HOPE TO FIND. THE FRAME IS EXCELLENT - NO ROT. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN WASHINGTON STATE AS STATED ON THE PROTECTO-PLATE AND WAS LAST TITLED IN IOWA (BY ORIGINAL OWNER PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE)
