After owning this car for over 15 years, it is time to sell I just have too many cars. That many years ago, my son and I decided to buy and build a project car. We bought this 1960 Chevrolet Biscayne from the 2nd owner, with just 38,000 miles on it. It was sold, originally, driven very little, and stored in Fredricksburg, Texas. It's always been stored inside or under cover. Floorpans, dash and trunk are solid, and all original. The car now has approx. 43,700 miles on it. It is a 4 Dr. sedan, it has mostly, the original aqua blue paint on it, with a decent shine. There are a couple places where some minor body work has been done. The doors shut nice and easily. The rear quarters are perfect. Nice bumpers, grille, and trim. The car originally came with the 6 cyl., 3 speed on the column. At around 40K miles, I put the freshly rebuilt 409 engine in it. The engine is a 1965 Truck Block, we had it bored with .060 over Forged Ross Pistons, Chrome moly, rings, 11:1 compression, engine was balanced, new Comp 280H Hydraulic cam and lifters, Scorpion Roller Rockers, Aluminum Water pump, new oil pump, bearings, double row timing chain, everything a good engine build requires. Started out with iron 340 Hp., heads. Dougs Tri-y ceramic coated headers, too. But less than 1500 miles ago, put a set of BRAND NEW, Edelbrock Aluminum heads. Went with a GM, 1965 Alum. large port, Intake, Single carb. Has an almost new, 750 CFM, Quik Fuel, double pumper Carb. Pertroniks, electronic ignition, aluminum distributor, with built in rev limiter, and a MSD Blaster 2 coil. The engine is cooled with an Aluminum Radiator, with a 2 speed, 30 amp electric fan, wired thru switches and relays. 11 inch flywheel, with a Centerforce pressure plate, and clutch disc. The driveshaft has a telescoping, rear section, with a rear 1350, heavy duty U-joint, and pinion yoke. The rear end, a Ford 9 inch, was fully rebuilt less than 1500 miles ago, with brand new Posi unit, and 3:70 gears. Strange axles, 31 spline, with 1/2" wheel studs. So, the entire engine has less than 3500 miles in it. I have over $10,000 in the engine rebuild alone. The motor runs strong, good oil pressure. Oh, I also bought genuine deep groove 409 pulleys for it. My starting bid for this car, is just a bit over what I have in the motor alone. Try building a 409, nowadays, and you will see what it's gonna cost you. Transmission, is a Muncie, M20. It shifts perfectly, the shifter is Brand New, Hurst Competition Plus. New rear springs, and Air lifts inside them. Carter 9 psi, electric fuel pump, with Fram Filters. Fuel pressure is regulated up front with a regulator and gauges. The car has Master Power Brake Booster, with front disc brakes. All brakes work fine. Exhaust pipes all the way to the back are 2 1/2" Stainless Pipes. Mufflers are 2 1'2" Stainless Flowmasters. There is a brand new Stainless steel gas tank in the rear, specially made for '59-'60 Chevys. New sending unit w 3'8" outlet. Inside the car, is new carpet, redone seats, Nicely lit, w blue lights, autometer gauges, fully functional, including fuel gage. Steering wheel and dash are in almost excellent conditon, surprising for a 59 year old car. The car still has manual steering. One wire alternator. Front wheels are Vintage, 14", some type of torque thrust wheels, nice condition. Rear wheels, I bought new, 15 years ago, American Torque Thrusts, 15" x 8", with B.F. Goodrich tires, 275/60/15s. They just fit perfectly inside the rear wheel wells. Original spare in the truck, it's not even weather checked, and I never had to add air to it. Car comes with an extra rear tinted window glass. I have a video, of the car running. If you are serious, I could possibly send you a thumb drive with more pics and that video on it. Everything on the car works, nice Alpine radio, with amplifier, CD player, wipers, heater, lights, everything works. Car starts, drives and stops fine. And it's pretty fast, too, for a large car. Engine is putting out over 400 Hp. Buyer to pay $500 down, within 72 hours of auction's end, and remainder to be paid in cash upon pickup. Car is located in Hot Springs Village, Ar. Zip 71909.
