1930 Chevrolet Universal for sale
My wife and I purchased this Chevy from the daughter of the original owner. He bought the car in 1930 and drove it til 1967. She said they had a big family and just couldn’t afford another car. It has been very well taken care of it’s whole life and it shows due to how well it runs, drives and how solid the car is.
We wanted something to go on cruises with, and have driven it over the past year. It runs down the road fine, will even do 55mph but that’s faster than the brakes like to go. We have a good deal of documentation dating all the way back to the original owner, as well as service records. It has a spare set of wheels and rims, and the seats have the original seat covers.
We have since decided we would like something that can go a little faster ( freeway speeds) and a little further on trips.
The car does have a few items that could use attention. The water pump needs new packing OR replaced with a modern reproduction from The Filling Station (you can buy every part for these old Chevys from them). It does not affect drive ability you just have to fill the radiator about once every half hour or so.All the glass is good, but the passenger side window does not roll up all the way. It binds up. We have only driven the car on sunny cruises and it was never an issue for us. The top could be replaced also from the filling station for about $200. One hood hold down came loose. I was going to attempt to fix it rather than buy new ones (a set of 4 is $70) The lights all work (except the spotlight) but the horn works intermittently.
I have tried to be as transparent as possible. If you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to bidding. $500 deposit due with 24 hours and arrangements must be made to pick up the car within 48 hours. I am not saying it has to be picked up by then but please communicate when and how you plan to pick up the car. Due to the age of the vehicle it is for sale as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. It’s a 79 year old vehicle and in better shape than most its age. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding.
