1965 Chevy Impala factory SS 4 speed with factory AC
I bought this car a couple years back with plans to play with it. Bought out of an estate with no direct owner contact. Appears car came from Georgia to Wisconsin to Oregon to now in Florida. You know how plans go. I have lost storage space and time to play. I need to find this car a home. Sale includes extensive documentation history including pictures and receipts. Please email any questions, can schedule to see car.
Body: Impala was originally yellow with the black interior. Most restore work took place12 to 20 years ago, fairly extensive restoration with a hundred or so photos, and receipts. The (not apparent frame off) work included a trunk pan and some floor work. The current condition is good except for some bubbles in top corner of hood paint. The paint is not new but cleans up well. There is some surface rust under mat in trunk because of a bad trunk gasket which I have replaced. As of yet I have not cleaned and repainted under the mat. The weather stripping around doors and window, as well as window felts, need to be replaced. I had ordered and will include the new weather stripping and felts. The chrome and stainless is all there.
Interior: The interior is in good condition. The stainless around seats and headliner needs to be polished up. There are two radios, only secondary with CD and amp is hooked up. The electric antenna doesn’t work. Restoration pics showed seats being rebuilt, as well I recently installed new door panels and SS emblems, etc.
Drivetrain: It appears to be original 4 speed and rear end. Records indicate it is a built 72 350 engine. I recently rebuilt carburetor and installed new plugs. Runs great! Electronic ignition, power steering, front disc rear drum brakes non-power, relatively new exhaust and gas tank, 12 bolt main. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive anywhere but the rear end appears high ratio as car runs 3000 rpm at 61- 63mph. The Cragar SS rims are fairly new with no rust and tires have plenty of tread. I didn’t get the rally wheels shown in one of the pictures.
Overall: This is a good car without major issues, cleans up well, and runs well. The AC blows but not cold. No signs of leaks, maybe a recharge will do. If you like the Impala, you probably know how rare a 1965 SS 4 speed factory AC Impala is.
