1978 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Silverado Additional Info:
1978 Chevrolet K10 "Stepside " ~ Original Rust free California truck~ Strong running 350 cid 4 barrel v8 motor~Well optioned top of the line "Silverado" luxury trim~Original Oak wood bed finished in Gold Mahogany stain~Rare color combo Russet Metallic with Mandarin Orange interiorUp for sale is a beautiful 1978 Chevrolet K10 Stepside in Russet Metallic with a Mandarin Orange interior. This unique truck was built in Fremont, CA and has been "raised" in the mild climate of the San Francisco bay area for the last 40 years. This is not just your everyday ordinary "square body" Chevy - this truck wasspecialordered as a pleasure truck to be enjoyed and not as an everyday work truck like the majority were. Essentially, all the boxes were checked when this truck was ordered in 1978. It comes equipped with all of the best equipment that could be ordered on a 1/2 ton truck in 1978; a 350 4 barrel v8, Dana 44 and a locking 12 bolt rear axle with 3:73 gears, the loaded Silverado package with AC and power everything! How many have you seen in this color combo? This is the RIGHT truck and has all its original "bones". This Stepside has not been swapped or replaced with cheap quality aftermarket parts made in Asia. All the body panels and trim are 100% American made - in Fremont, CA - in 1978! Even the oak wood bed is the original wood! Ordinarily, a 40 year old step side with a wood bed wouldn't stand the test of time, but this truck is no ordinary stepside! This chevy was never abused and has been properly maintained for the last 40 years - fortunately preserving it to be enjoyed for many years to come. This truck that would be very hard to duplicate and you simply can't go out and find another 40 year old Russet Metallic step side optioned like this one in such very nice, solid and original condition. 73-87 Chevy and GMC “square-body” trucks have reached a solid stage of collectability, with a strong increase in demand. Don't miss out on this sweet California stepside - it would be virtually impossible to go out and find another just like it!Notable Options:E62=Stepside Pickup box LS9=v8 350 4 Barrel G80=Locking Differential MX1= Turbo Hydra-matic 350 Automatic F60=Heavy Duty Front Springs C60= All Weather Air Conditioner YE9=Silverado Trim Equiptment ZQ2=Operating Convenience Package (Power doors and locks)Alsoincludes a very rare optional slide out spare tire unit and a pair of NOS West Coast side mirrors like those that were originally fitted to this beautiful truck!Cosmetically this truck is in fantastic condition, with a very solid original body, panels, trim and wood in the bed. The only non original part is the tailgate - it has an NOS GM tailgate on it now -still in original factory primer. The truck has been repainted once in its life (the original Russet Metallic and White paint), otherwise its very original and maintains a distinctive look that is unmistakably 1978! The paint shines very nicely, but it is not perfect - it's a paint job that was applied roughly 20 years ago. There are a few dings (most noticeably drivers front fender and passenger rear fender), otherwise - this is a very straight and very solid truck. The oak wood bed has been sanded and re-finished using a mahogany stain on the all original wood. The chrome bumpers, chrome grille and trim is original and in great shape - with no pitting. The original rally wheels were replaced with wider Chevy steel wheels (off of a Blazer) and combined with brand new BF Goodrich All Terrain tires, this truck has a good proportioned look to. Mechanically this truck is in very good operating condition. The motor starts and runs great - this truck will cruise at 75 mph with no issues. The original 350 was replaced with a 350 General Motors crate motor. The transmission shifts smoothly in all gears and reverse (was rebuilt in the past). The brakes work like they should and all the lights are functional. Brand new exhaust system from converter back! The AC does not blow cold, but the fans all work. The radio does not work. The interior of this truck is in good condition. The original carpet has been replaced, seat professionally recovered, headliner replaced and the panels are original. The seat is a unique color that you do not see very often with these trucks, it has an almost distressed leather look to it. I have described the truck the best I can and have tried to include all details on the truck. Remember this is a 40 year old 4x4 truck. If there are any additional questions, clarification,or photos needed - please and I'll respond ASAP. Thank you and good luck!Note: mileage stated is what shows on the odometer - accuracy / actual mileage (if different) is unknown.
