1972 Chevrolet C-10 -Big Block- Additional Info:
The good, bad and ugly
I am selling my truck, this is a sad story for me, but I need to get this truck to someone who can either finish it and resell it or enjoy it themselves. The truck is registered in Califonia and is good for 11 months. The truck is being sold As-Is Where-Is.
The good, The truck is straight and rust free there has been a lot of time and money spent on parts. When painted we found some rust in the floor pans and repaired it.Body & Paint: The C10 has a 2 tone paint job with a hugger orange and white that was done at a local shop now out of business. This is the ugly part, although it was painted about five years ago the paint is peeling off. I suspect the primer was defective or the prep work was not done correctly. Most likely the primer paint had something wrong with it. The truck needs to be painted. The interior paint is actually in good shape. There is a new Cowl Induction hood installed, and we have a brand new (in the box) tailgate that goes with the truck. There is a custom front grill installed along with a one window kit from LMC Truck. (eliminated the wing windows)
Engine & Transmission: This C10 has a rebuilt 402 big block V8 engine with a 700R4 Automatic transmission that has a lot of power in my opinion. I believe they are both original to the truckHere is the Bad part: It runs but not great, I can't seem to tune it. It needs a knowledgeable hand.402 Cubic Inch - 410 HorsepowerEdelbrock IntakeHolley Street Avenger 750cfmSilvolite Cast Pistons - Roller Rocker ArmMilodon - 7 Quart Oil PanElgin .270 Duration .484 Valve lift camshaftBuilt by TG's performance Engine shop Lawndale CADual Radiator Fan Kit - Old Air Products - TXFlowmaster Muffler 50 seriesAll good equipmentThe transmission: The goodRebuilt 4 months ago with a 1-year warranty from Champion TransmissionStage One Shift KitRear-End Ford nine-inch, Truetrac Detriot LockerFitted by Currie Rear-End Anaheim CA
Suspension: The C10 is sporting new shocks all the way around. The truck has also been lowered 2 1/2 inch drop with new front spindles and 4-inch drop in the rear with new drop leaf springs, all of which make for a great lowered and level look to the truck. Rear Brakes came from a 1979 Lincoln giving the truck Four wheel Disc brakes. The wheels are 17" Cragar SS wheels.
Interior: The interior of the C10 is in good condition overall. There are about 40 pounds of Dynamat sound deadener under the carpets. The black and white houndstooth seat has a small hole in it, and the black rugs and mats are all in fair condition, they were new but have sun damage. There are Three-Point seat belts installed. The dashboard is Dakota Digital, and all gages were rewired and all work. The Ignition switch, lock-set, pedals, handles, AC ducts, Door Panels, and armrests were all replaced. The steering column was replaced with a new chrome Ididt column and a quick-ratio power steering box, from Early Classic Enterprises in Fresno CA.The center ashtray was replaced with a cup holder. There is a billet aluminum glove box cover from No Limit Engineering and a GRant Steering wheel. There is a USA-6 Headunit and a 40 Alpine Amp under the seat and kick panel speakers and speakers in the doors and an iPod connection in the glove box. But, the noise interference is horrible; it needs to be replaced, or some sort of filter added. There is an AC unit that worked but needs to be recharged
