With its exterior shining bright and a throaty rumble coming out of its dual exhaust, this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS350 is a sight that's pretty much guaranteed to lift your mood. First generation Camaros are such universally appealing classics to begin with, and a healthy, strong-running drivetrain on top of some well-chosen modifications make this one a blast to drive. A Canary yellow exterior, with painted black accents on the nose and sides, sits in place...of the more sedate Butternut shade this renowned muscle car left the factory with and equips it with a very magnetic, era-appropriate appearance. While it's been a little while since it pulled out of the restoration shop and onto the street, this is still one sharp-looking Camaro that will no doubt attract attention anywhere you go. Its contrasting black vinyl top is in fine condition, with no tears or bubbling, the bumpers both fore and aft still have a nice shine to them and clean glass surrounds the cabin. Take a closer look and you'll see that the exterior alignment is in good stead as well - even gaps surround the hood, doors and deck lid all open and shut easily. Up front, a nicely contoured hood scoop adds some visual flair, while in back, the color-matched spoiler on the deck lid is looking sharp and well-aligned. A well- configured interior sits just inside the doors, with its mostly stock configuration complemented nicely with some more modern upgrades. The black vinyl covers on both the front buckets and rear bench seat have plenty of life left as they loom over black carpeting that appears to have been fairly recently added. With its burlwood grain accents, quadrant of AutoMeter white faced gauges and signature horseshoe shifter, the center console is a definite strong point in this classic. A GT Grant steering wheel takes its place on the column, while just beyond the factory gauges sit behind clear, easily readable lenses just underneath a clean, straight dashboard. This Chevy has things covered in the audio department - it's sporting a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player with auxiliary and USB ports, so you'll have plenty of options at your disposal. The trunk area in back is as clean as you could want - with no liner on its floor, you can get a good view inside and see how solid the interior components are. If you're itching to get out on the road behind the wheel of a wheel of a strong-running classic, this Camaro definitely climbs up the "must see" list. The 350 cubic inch V8 sitting under its scooped hood in an impressively well-detailed engine compartment carries a 4-barrel carb under its chrome Holley air cleaner and a pair of chrome valve covers on its sides and is in fine form. Exhaling through aftermarket headers leading into dual exhausts, this '68 sounds out a great note that has a slight loping cadence to suggest there may have been a mild performance cam added to the mix. Power brakes that feature discs up front combine with a master brake cylinder and booster that were replaced not long ago to provide fade-resistant, low effort stops while power steering makes this '68 an easy navigator. This perennial muscle car favorite rolls on a set of 15" American Racing polished aluminum wheels outfitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials.
