1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Additional Info:
1969 Z28. X33 car. Hugger orange with black std. Numbers matching with protect o plate. This has been a local car (to me) its whole life. Sold new at White Allen Chevrolet in Dayton OH, which is still in business today. White Allen is a known high horse dealership back in the day and was in the Yenko network of dealers. This car is a no doubt numbers matching car, meaning it has the DZ engine, Muncie trans, and BU rear in it that was installed at the factory. Kinda hard to find these days, especially with a REAL protect o plate to boot. The car's original cowl tag has never been off the car. This car has never been advertised online until now. Its only traded hands a few times locally. I know of most of its ownership. As mentioned, it has its numbers DZ block, 186 heads, 480 distributor, 837 alternator, M20 Muncie trans, BU 3.73 posi 12 bolt rear, 4053 Holley, 472 intake. It also has its original radiator, brake booster and master cyl. About the only change was that it had headers installed many years ago so it is missing smog and exhaust manifolds to be correct. I do have the original reverse lock out and can put the buyer in contact with a smog system and dated manifolds. It is a real cowl hood car, most aren't. Has console, tach and gauges. No power steering (thank goodness). D80 spoilers. Am radio.
The car is what I consider drivers quality. An honest car that's had some repairs along the way, but never been completely apart. It had 1 older repaint, which may be single stage. It was a good paint job but is showing some wear, chips etc. Its at least 25 plus years old. At the time of the repaint it received GM full quarters, still has the stickers on the insides. Bumpers etc are original. The subframe was nicely detailed a few years back. The interior is original except the carpet. It shows a little wear, but personally I'd leave it along. I'd actually leave the car alone completely except add smog if your a purist. This is a car to drive and enjoy but still being a sound investment due to being a numbers car with documentation. The guy I bought it from is a Vietnam vet who suffered an injury to his left leg in the war. As he got older, it got progressively worse to the point that he was unable to drive a clutch car. subsequently, the car has sat most of the last 10 years. I tuned it up and had the carb rebuilt and it runs nice and strong. I got the chance to drive it a few times this summer, but my issue is Ive accumulated too many cars to be able to spend much time on any certain one, which is part of the reason for this sale. Car is being sold as-is, where is. The factory warranty expired many years ago. Due to the age of the car, its being sold as mileage exempt.
