$22,999For sale at Blackdog Performance Cars is a big block powered 1964 Chevrolet El Camino. The Chevrolet El Camino debuted in 1959, it lasted 2 model years and was gone in 1960. It made a comeback in 1964 and hung around until 1987. Its official class was a coupe utility, or coupe utility muscle car. It was a response to the success of the Ford Ranchero, and was basically a station wagon with a truck bed as opposed to an...enclosed cargo area. From 1964 to 1977 the El Camino was based on the Chevelle platform, and from 1978 to 1987 it was based on the GM G-Body platform. To this day people do not know whether to call it a car or a truck, which has led many folks to refer to it simply as a 'Caruck' (pronounced Ka-Ruck)Not only is the engine in this 64’ El Camino a 454 CID big block V8, but it also features L68 heads, an aluminum intake, a Holley carburetor, and a K&N filter. The large headers flow to the full exhaust providing a killer sound. The 4-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the 12-bolt Posi-Trac rear end, both of which make for a truly blissful driving experience. Power brakes (disc up front) provide the proper stopping power when desired. While sway bars in the front and rear help the El Camino handle a bit better.The black vinyl interior is in good condition, it is free from any rips, cracks, and tears. The door panels, dash, and gauge cluster are also in very good condition. An AM/FM radio and 2 gauges (water temp and oil pressure) have been added to the gauge cluster, but blend in nicely.
