It's sporting an outstanding exterior color over its nicely finished first generation Chevelle form, but the appeal of this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu doesn't stop there. It's powered by an exceedingly fresh, powerful engine that's just now broken in and is fed by fuel injection for both adjustability and dependable all-weather operation. When Chevy introduced the Chevelle only a couple of years before this '66 debuted to stake its claim in the increasingly competitive mid-sized niche,...they might not have foreseen the model would fast become a favorite with aftermarket enthusiasts throughout the country, but they had to have been encouraged by its immediate success, as more than 330,000 Chevelles were sold in the first year alone. The ascendance of the Chevelle to revered street machine happened pretty quickly as well - the model always looks great when outfitted with aftermarket wheels and an aggressive stance and its broad, roomy engine compartment houses a sizable V8 with ease. The distinctive Brandywine Red shade draped over this Chevy just looks killer. It's a darker rendering of the color than you normally see and the paint is in great shape, with a strong shine and no scratches or dents of consequence anywhere in sight. A little bit of polishing will have the chrome trim looking its best, and the cabin sports clear glass on all four sides. The black vinyl interior offers just the vintage driving environment you'd want in a classic like this. The fresh appearance of the front buckets and rear bench seat suggest that they were fairly recently installed and that installation was performed nicely - the seat covers are all well-fitted and don't show much wear at all. In front of the updated Chevy-branded steering wheel sitting on its tilt column, the factory gauges on the dash all function just as intended and are joined by a duo of aftermarket displays to keep a closer read on oil pressure and operating temperature. An AM/FM/CD stereo sits in the center of the dash, while on either side, in dash vents stand ready to ventilate the cabin - this classic left the factory with air conditioning on board and just a little bit of attention should have it back in action. The unmistakable site of a white-balled Hurst shifter makes the look of this classic interior even more compelling. The trunk houses a full-size spare and factory issue jack and with no lining on its floor, you can get a clear view of its solid looking components. This classic muscle car offers a great driving experience. The 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate motor sitting inside the engine compartment has only logged 5000 miles, so it's just now entering its prime. It's a very capable powerplant, good for 355 horsepower and more than 400 lb-ft of torque in factory configuration and an Edelbrock fuel injection kit has been added to provide both enhanced adjustability and dependable all-weather operation. The engine sounds a nice deep exhaust note out of the ceramic coated shorty headers leading to its dual exhaust and it wears a sharp looking K&N chrome air cleaner on top as it teams with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that's shifting with precision. Both the front suspension and steering components have been rebuilt, so it is really riding and steering nicely and rolls on a set of very sharp looking 15" Cragar wheels wrapped with BF Goodrich T/A radials. This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu offers vintage Chevy looks both inside and out, as well as a nicely configured, powerful drivetrain and is a definite "must see." Call today!
