1944 Chevrolet Other Pickups Half Ton Additional Info:

1944 Chevrolet AK Series Half Ton Pickup Truck. All original and very rare barn find truck. Original Stovebolt 6 motor. A very good candidate for a full restoration. This truck is a Canadian built truck where they recommenced limited civilian production earlier than in the US hence it being a 1944 built truck with no chrome. Civilian truck production recommenced as early as 1943 in Canada for 'essential' users. I believe this to be one of these civilian specification trucks and not one built for the military as I am under the impression that the military did not use regular style half ton pickup trucks but I may be wrong. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. Contact must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending or it will be assumed that you have no intention of honoring your bid and the truck will be offered to others. Zero Feedback bidders must make contact prior to bidding.
It has a very solid, rust free body with beautiful patina. The floorboards are exceptionally good. The cab corners, running boards and fenders are very solid with only some typical farm use scars to the rear fenders. The passengers door seems to be the only part of the truck that has suffered with rust with some minor rusting evident in the lower outer door skin. This is really a remarkably solid truck with a gorgeous look to it. An art deco era Chevrolet truck in original un-restored condition is a very unusual opportunity these days, especially one as rust free as this with a 1944 build date and Title.
The interior is complete but will require the usual work of re-upholstering the seat and other details. The interior panel above the windshield has suffered with the usual rust as these trucks do but this could be easily repaired.
Mechanically this truck will require rebuilding as with any un-restored barn find of this era. It is complete and all original but has not ran in many decades. All tires hold air and it rolls freely. The steering is extremely stiff.
This will make a great project being such a rare and solid truck. It has been incredibly well preserved for its age. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder.

who we are and what we do

We are two brothers who seek out original trucks and cars from all across Canada, specializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Most American barn finds have long since been found and tampered with by multiple owners; North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good, solid, original vehicles, waiting to be brought back to life.

We make thesevehicles available to the US market by taking care of importation and providing all paperwork required to obtain a ClearUS Title, in your name and home State.

We are passionate about finding the best there is and understand that our customers wantto see automobiles that have not been tampered with; The more original, the better.

Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specific that you are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help.

The business we conduct is straightforward and honest. Whether you're looking for something that'sall original, a starting point for a restoration project or the bones for a custom build, Bison Brothers are here to help.
