1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 -- Additional Info:
For sale at Blackdog Performance Cars is a 1955 Chevrolet 210. The 1955 model year was the first year known as the Tri-Five era. From 1955 to 1957 Chevrolet dominated car sales with their 150, 210, and Bel Air models. The 150 was the base model, with options being minimal, as was the chrome trim and other exterior flair. The 210 was a step up from the 150, you could order the same engine packages and most of the options as the Bel Air but not all. The Bel Air was the top of the food chain during the Tri-Five reign. The available options seemed limitless, the chrome, and eventually gold trim was astounding. The Tri-Five model years changed the automotive landscape forever, which is why they are considered to be such iconic pieces today. This 55’ 210 spent most of its days as an Arizona car, and is very solid. It was used primarily as a get-around-town car while it’s owner was visiting the area. The bottom half of the body is finished in orange while the top half is finished in off-white. The paint is not perfect, you can see the occasional scratch or imperfection, and there are a few areas that have just primer. This 210 was never intended to be beauty queen, it was and is a car that runs and drives fantastic. This is a blank canvas for the new owner to create something for him/herself or simply enjoy right now in its current condition as the previous owner did.Powering this 55’ 210 is a 350 CID V8 engine with chrome valve covers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake and carburetor, and an RPC air filter. An aluminum radiator and electric fan help cool this engine down on hot summer days, while the Vintage Air A/C keeps the passengers cool inside the car. Headers flow from the engine creating a nice growl. The TH-350 automatic transmission transfers the power to the rear end and to the pavement. It also features a front disc brake conversion including dual brake master with power assist. The front brake calipers are early 70's from GM so finding replacement parts is easy. The vinyl interior shares the same color combination as the exterior with black carpeting covering the floor boards. The dash remains fairly original, sans the AM/FM radio and air conditioning vents mounted to the underside. With features like power brakes (disc up front) and power steering (with a newer CPP steering box), driving this old Tri-Five is a breeze even in tight spaces like parking lots or car shows.
