1969 Chevrolet Corvette 5-Star Bowtie Winner
This extremely rare Five-Star NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) Bowtie 1969 Big Block Corvette 427 390 HP Automatic is truly original. For 38 years, this car was in Palo Alto, Calif. Then in 2007, it came to Inver Grove Heights, Minn. It has 19,200 original miles with its original Monza Red paint and standard black interior. This is a true survivor and has not been altered in any way, other than normal maintenance. To this day, this car still maintains the original exhaust system as well as the original spare tire.
The car is a Five-Star NCRS Bowtie Award Winner. Recent awards include:
Two NCRS Top Flight Awards
Chapter Top Flight award in May of 2011
Regional Top Flight award in May 2012
Regional Top Flight award in May 2014 (97.0%) and Bowtie sign-off for Nationals
4-Star Bowtie at NCRS Nationals in 2014
5-Star Bowtie award at NCRS Nationals in 2015. Scores are based on originality: Interior 98%, Exterior 96%, Mechanical 95%, Chassis 93%. At this point, this car was only one of 13 Bowtie Corvettes in existence.
The car starts, runs, drives and stops as it should. This is a very rare original Corvette and has all of the original paperwork.
NCRS STAR AND NCRS CHEVROLET BOWTIE Award
NCRS Star and Bowtie Awards are earned only at National Conventions by unrestored cars successfully judged and voted to be historically and educationally significant in any one or more of four areas (Interior, Exterior, Mechanical, and Chassis). The award is intended to recognize the car and encourage the owner to retain and display the car in its present condition for the enjoyment and continuing educational benefit of our membership. NCRS One-, Two- or Three-Star Awards are achieved by a successful judging and voting in any one, two or three of the four listed areas. The NCRS Chevrolet Bowtie Award is achieved by a successful judging and voting in all four areas. Subsequent to this judging, the NCRS Chevrolet 5-Star Bowtie Award may be achieved as described in item #12 of the NCRS Judging Reference Manual. Only 293 Corvettes have received this prestigious award.
