1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:
1955 Chevy 2dr ht True Bel air. I bought this car about 4-5 years ago and have done lots of improvements since then. The car was appraised in 2003 for over 50K with over 60K invested at that time. I've invested around 10K since then so as of now the car has around 70K invested. The car has a Ray Morton engine its a 502CI chevy Big Block I would estimate the HP is around 500-600HP. The exhaust has electric cut outs so you can here it roar. Its a pump gas engine and loves the RPM's. I put a Rebuilt 700R-4 with 3,500 loc up converter. The rear end is ford 9in with 4:10 gears. The combo is perfect, its the best of both worlds. Its fast at the start and when you hit the switch on the dash on the inter state she will run at 70MPR at around 2500 RPMs. The rear is mini tubbed with full back seat. You really cant tell its been changed even looking inside the trunk only if you look close you cant tell the wheel house was moved in. The tires are 12in wide in back and 9in wide in front. It grips the road like no other 55 Ive owned. The front has Tubular A arms with 2in dropped spindles, 4 wheel Hydro boost disc brakes. I also added a new 500 power steering box and tilt Flaming river steering column. The body is very strait and clean, the front white has metal flake in it and really sparkles in the sun. The gauges inside the dash are old SW and not hooked up the ones on the dash are all working. The speedometer, lights and signals all work. There are no wipers but the arms are there if you wanted to put a motor in. I only drive on sunny days! I replaced most of the chrome on the car because when I got it the hole front end was painted white.. The interior is old school velour and still in good shape. The battery and fuel cell are in the trunk and a cut off switch where the filler neck was. The car does have some minor touch ups over time but its very beautiful and get a lot of attention at the shows. If you have any questions please feel free to ask before making an offer.
