1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Additional Info:
If you have never had the experience of driving a second-generation Camaro, you owe it to yourself to give one a spin. During design and development, they improved the car in many ways from the lessons learned from building and racing the first-generation cars. These cars are lower, wider, and have a well-deserved reputation as a driver's car. Check this one out. Hunkered down low and dressed up in Black and Gold, this Z/28 looks great! It's the culmination of refinements and success developed for the street, strip, and road courses. It leads with a body colored front bumper and a blacked-out grill with Z28 appearing just above it. Below it a deep chin spoiler reaches for the ground to keep air from getting underneath the car and keeps the front end planted at speed. Gold stripes wrap around to the front wheel wells and then down the rocker panel with Z28 in bold letters at the end. A hood scoop is outlined in gold and louvers in the front fenders add to the aggressive look of the car. The roofline flows smoothly down to a full width rear spoiler that keeps the back end planted at speed with Z28 and gold striping just below it and gold turbine wheels complete the look perfectly. Open the door and you will find a Black interior with a door panel that echoes the long lean lines of the car with a chrome strip across the top. A 4-spoke Z28 steering wheel with a unique wound treatment provides good grip for spirited driving and is mounted on a tilt column. It sits in front of a stock dashboard with the tach on the right and speedo on the left with engine gauges to either side and ventilation controls low on the left side. An AM/FM and iPod compatible Retrosound head unit with speakers in the rear shelf has been added for your listening pleasure. Have a seat in the high-backed bucket seat with a comfortable cloth seating surface and with nice side bolsters that is trimmed in black vinyl and let your hand fall to the white shift knob for the manual transmission that is begging to be stirred around. As a Z28, this is a driver's car, so the engine and chassis were upgraded in order to live up to its billing. Nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay is the engine is the original, numbers matching 350 cubic inch motor with a Quadra-jet four-barrel carburetor. The air filter housing as well as the Moroso valve covers and master cylinder cover are painted gold to match the stripes on the car. Long tube headers wind their way out the bottom on the way back to dual Flowmaster mufflers which give the car a nice healthy sound. The chassis engineers did a nice job by upgrading the springs and shocks both front and rear and by adding a beefy front sway bar with matching rear bar to flatten out the handling. 11-inch vented front disc brakes assure good stopping power and the car sits on those sweet looking gold turbine wheels with 245/60R15 tires all around. Come on down and treat yourself to a drive in this Z28. You might want to treat yourself to that kind of drive more often and decide to keep this one in your garage.
