This 1992 Chevrolet Camaro is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and was ordered with both the B4C special service package option, and the 1LE showroom stock performance package. On 1992 models, this combination of options afforded buyers an aluminum driveshaft, baffled fuel tank, unique shock absorbers, stiffer suspension bushings, and a plain front fascia without fog lamps. Work performed by the seller has included stripping the car down to the unibody and performing a repaint in the original color. Other services included all new fluids, including the transmission oil, new brake rotors, pads and calipers, new shocks, new BF Goodrich tires, and an undercarriage detail. The seller states that the car has been driven fewer than 500 miles since completion, and is offering the car with a Carfax and a clean Oregon title in their name.
Intended for law enforcement, B4C package cars carried RS badging instead of Z/28 badging, and the build tag indicates that the RS badging is correct for the car. The seller fully stripped the car and repainted it in Arctic White, the correct original color as shown by the paint code “WA-L9567” on the RPO tag.
Correct 16″ alloy wheels are fitted with new BF Goodrich performance tires.Unlike previous years, 1992 B4C package cars also received 11.65″ rotors with two piston aluminum calipers.
Photos of the car disassembled in preparation for paint are provided in the gallery below.
Unlike standard 1LE package Camaros, B4C package cars were equipped with air conditioning(option code C60). The interior featuers the addition of a newer stereo with CD player. Of the 589 B4C code Camaros produced, this car is claimed to be one of 102 built with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The light grey cloth upholstery is contrasted with black plastic, leather, and vinyl elsewhere in the cabin.
Power comes from a 305ci LB9 V8, which the seller reports is numbers matching. This LB9 was rated at 230 horsepower in manual transmission equipped examples. This car includes the optional limited slip differential (option code G80), as well as an aluminum drive shaft as part of the 1LE package. During the repaint, the car received a mechanical refresh, including new fluids, new brake calipers and rotors and new shocks.
Several photos of the underside of the car are provided in the gallery. 1LE package cars were fitted with numerous chassis upgrades, including 11.65″ front brake rotors from the Caprice paired with aluminum PBR calipers from the Corvette. The fuel tank was redesigned and baffled to alleviate fuel starvation issues under hard cornering, and the sway bars and shocks were uprated from the standard Z/28 items for improved handling.
The RPO tag is attached above, and shows the B4C and 1LE packages, as well as the individual line items which make up the packages.
