1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Additional Info:
This car is a rare find. It's not only a one owner car with unbelievably low mileage, it's also a 1980s Muscle car in the old school tradition of body on frame construction. So, it's a near perfect survivor of the last of a breed, and, it's a Monte Carlo. Check out this striking paint. It's original of course, laid on there by the factory 34 years ago, and it looks as good now as it did back then. It is code 27U and 27L, Light French Blue Metallic and Medium Sapphire Blue Metallic. The shape of the body cuts lines that were unique in 1984 and are even more-so today. It leads with sharp, crisp lines defining the front end with quad headlights set on each side of a black out grill. The hood starts low, raking up and back, feeding into a roofline that ends with an upright rear window. Down the side, there is Monte Carlo SS script on the doors. An SS wing on the trunk handles the downforce on the rear at speed, and the body lines all come together cleanly for a great look from the rear. Finishing things out right, are a couple chrome tailpipes singing their song and letting the world know that you are driving something special too. Open the door and check out this interior. Dark Royal Blue, (trim code 22D) with a wood dash. It's perfect. This car was ordered with the code AR9 reclining European style bucket seats, which are just asking for someone to sit in them (remember, that hasn't happened much on this car!) and there is a big, comfortable arm rest on the door panel. So, jump in, have a seat and check out the view of the gauges. Set up like they should be. Engine monitoring in the center, tach off to the right, and speedo to the left. But this is no stripped down hot-rod. This is a personal luxury hot rod. The wood treatment on the dash is gorgeous! And it has all the luxury features like power windows and locks, tilt and cruise, and of course power steering and brakes. You may notice the lack of a radio. In another rare find, this car was also ordered radio delete, code UL5, and it remains original as ordered with no radio. Have I mentioned how original and perfect this car is yet? Well that continues under the hood. It is as neat and clean and original as the day it was built. The SS designation means that it has an upgraded version of the 305-cubic inch V8 that pumps out a bit more torque and horsepower than its stable mates. That power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to a solid rear axle located by trailing arms with coil springs and a sway bar keeping body roll down. Up front, control arms with another beefy sway bar that is matched nicely with the rear bar, makes this a nice handling machine. Power front disc brakes give you confidence that you can reign things back in again if you decide to let the horses run a bit. The car looks great sitting on its stock steel wheels with polished trim rings and 215/65R15 Goodyear Eagle GT rubber all around. Come on down and check out this rare find. You might decide that you should be its second owner.
